Summary:
The Gaming COO shall provide the CTFC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Board of Directors accurate and data-based information on Gaming’s profitability, operations, growth potential and research and analysis of business, marketing and financial information to provide strategic direction and assist the CEO and the Board to make well-informed decisions regarding Colville Gaming’s current operation and future direction.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for personnel functions, such as: interviewing, hiring, orientation, training, development, supervision, delegations, evaluations and disciplinary actions.
Provide leadership, direction, and control for all aspects of the Colville Gaming and its gaming enterprises activities as the flagship business of CTFC and the Colville Tribes in compliance with federal, tribal law and applicable state laws.
Directs the planning of all current gaming operations and strategic plans to ensure growth and profitability in the short and long term.
Demonstrated leadership and success in establishing a company culture that provides excellent guest service in a respectful and supportive environment that enables team members to succeed and reflects the mission, vision and values of CTFC and the Colville Tribes.
Provide mentorship and guidance to member company management enabling management to develop realistic long-range strategic plans and annual operating plans to maximize profits, develop management skills and achieve other non-financial objectives established by the CEO and the Board.
Demonstrated success initiating strategic plans utilizing financial and marketing expertise that strengthen and maintain the Company’s viability and enable future growth.
Looks for methods to improve quality, efficiency and productivity, reduce costs, increase profits, or improve control measures.
Works collaboratively to develop and/or improve systems, processes, controls and procedures that improve the overall efficiency of the firm and insure excellent client service.
Works closely with CEO and CFO on all matters related to Colville Gaming LLC.
Break down barriers to effective collaboration and enable cross-functional problem-solving.
Operates and maintains office equipment, including but not limited to: computer, programmable telephone system, programmable fax and multi-use photocopier.
Provides a high standard of professionalism and guest service.
Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Minimum Qualifications):
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field. MBA preferred.
Fifteen (15) years of experience in progressively complex level management with operational and financial analysis responsibilities is required.
Minimum fifteen (15) years of progressively responsible experience in managing integrated gaming enterprises and resort facilities, including overseeing expansion projects and casino openings required.
Minimum five years Tribal and other Government experience preferred.
Experience in new development and/or expansions preferred.
Expert business acumen with strong strategic thinking, organizational management and collaboration skills.
Demonstrated success developing and implementing strategic plans.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with EGD and game kit procurement and placement.
Demonstrated success developing and implementing marketing programs.
Demonstrated record of mentoring and developing management personnel to instill a strong business culture of success, respect, and guest service.
Strong analytical skills required to evaluate plans and operations.
Knowledge of Section 17 Federal Corporations and member limited liability companies preferred.
Experience managing a tribal gaming operation in Washington preferred.
Ability to speak and present information clearly and concisely to groups.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, subordinates, as well as public, and private officials.
Must clear a criminal history background check, obtain a Colville Tribal Gaming License, and demonstrate impeccable credit history.
Skill in solving practical problems and dealing with situations where only limited standardization exists.
Must be computer literate with intermediate proficiency in Windows based programs.
Must have correspondence skills, report writing and editing with excellent spelling and grammar abilities.
Ability to author well-organized reports that are clear, accurate, and convincing.
Ability to analyze data from multiple information ports by comparing and contrasting data to draw a conclusion or to identify trends.
Skill in identifying and resolving administrative problems under pressure conditions.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to communicate professionally in written, verbal, and non-verbal format while portraying a friendly tone, word choice, and body language.
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
Manual and finger dexterity as required to perform daily job duties.
Ability to frequently sit for prolonged periods of time.
Must be willing and able to work irregular hours, holidays, and/or weekends as work dictates.
Comfortable with public speaking. (Board Meetings, Public Hearings, Project Pitches)
Ability to frequently bend, squat and reach.
Ability to frequently push and pull 10 pounds.
Ability to comprehend complex issues.
Ability to be given verbal and written instruction and apply the instruction accurately.
Sufficient visual acuity to write, recognize printed materials, computer screen, and notice non-verbal behavior.
Speech and hearing ability to project voice to small and large audiences, carry on telephone conversations, hear and grasp verbal communications and equipment prompts.
Ability to drive in adverse weather conditions.
Periodically exposed to high levels of noise and tobacco smoke.
