Position Overview:

The Vice President (VP) of Sales and Marketing will report directly to the President/CEO and play a critical role in shaping and executing the company’s sales and marketing strategy. This individual will be responsible for leading the sales and marketing teams to drive growth, enhance all company brands, including Zenshi's brand presence, and expand into new markets. The VP will set strategic objectives, ensure team alignment, and foster a high-performance culture. This role is ideal for a seasoned sales leader with a proven track record in business development and leadership within the grocery, supermarket, and professional hospitality sectors, with a particular focus on the supermarket and food service industries.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

Strategic Leadership:

Develop and implement comprehensive sales and marketing strategies aligned with the company’s long-term objectives. Lead the formulation of annual business plans and growth targets.

Market Expansion:

Identify and capitalize on opportunities for market expansion and diversification. Spearhead initiatives to enter new markets and enhance competitive positioning.

Team Leadership:

Inspire, mentor, and develop the sales and marketing teams, cultivating top talent and fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.

Client Relationships:

Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including senior-level decision-makers, to support client retention and business growth.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

Work closely with other departments, including operations and product development, to ensure a cohesive approach to market strategy and customer satisfaction.

Performance Management:

Establish performance metrics and regularly assess the team's progress. Conduct performance evaluations and implement professional development plans.

Innovation and Creativity:

Drive the creation of innovative marketing campaigns and sales strategies to enhance brand visibility and attract new clients.

Financial Oversight:

Develop and manage the sales and marketing budget. Monitor financial performance against targets and adjust strategies as needed to ensure fiscal responsibility.

Executive Reporting:

Provide regular updates and strategic insights to the executive team. Prepare and present detailed reports on sales and marketing activities, performance, and forecasts.

Compliance and Risk Management:

Ensure all activities comply with industry regulations and company policies. Identify and mitigate potential risks related to market expansion and sales activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of 15 years of experience in sales, business development, or marketing within the supermarket and food industry or a similar B2B context, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.

Leadership Skills:

Demonstrated ability to lead large teams, drive strategic initiatives, and achieve significant business growth. Experience in developing high-performing teams and fostering a collaborative work environment.

Strategic Thinking:

Strong strategic and analytical skills with a proven ability to translate market data and trends into actionable business strategies.

Communication Skills:

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with senior stakeholders and clients.

Relationship Building:

Expertise in building and maintaining relationships with key clients and stakeholders. Proven ability to develop networks and partnerships that drive business success.

Project Management:

Highly organized with excellent project management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

Travel Requirement:

Willingness to travel up to 50%, including international and domestic travel. Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle.
