Corporate Counsel – Procurement

to grow our legal team. This individual must be self-motivated and comfortable working in a fast-paced culture and will be responsible for supporting the procurement activities of various business units across RingCentral in collaboration with the procurement organization. The procurement legal team is responsible for negotiating domestic and international procurement contracts, including on-prem licenses and SaaS, marketing events and demand generation, recruiting, consulting, travel, networking, professional services, and distribution agreements.This role will report to the Director, Legal – Procurement and will work closely with other members of the legal department as well as cross-functionally with other RingCentral stakeholders, particularly the finance, HR, operations, IT and marketing departments.ResponsibilitiesReview and draft a variety of procurement agreements customary to a fast-growing global cloud communications company.Collaborate with internal business clients, including the marketing, IT, engineering, sales, HR, finance and professional services teams, on a broad range of issues related to commercial contracting for inbound activities.Participate in negotiations with vendors in collaboration with contract negotiators and the procurement business organization.Work effectively with senior management to create strong trusted advisor relationships with business leaders, provide practical advice, facilitate creative problem-solving and informed decision-making.Develop, update and evangelize rules and policies relating to the procurement contract review and approval processes.Help develop templates, playbooks and clause libraries to improve the efficiency of the procurement contracting process.Coordinate engagement and oversight of outside counsel as necessary.Willingly assist Legal Department colleagues with projects and activities to contribute to a collegial atmosphere and to balance workloads.RequirementsJuris Doctor (or equivalent) degree and academic credentials.Membership to at least one state bar.3-7 years as a transactional attorney, including experience at a law firm and/or in-house in a cloud communications or high-tech company, preferably in a procurement legal function.Excellent negotiation and drafting skills. Strong business judgment. International contracting experience a plus.Unequivocal commitment to ethics, integrity, confidentiality and discretion.Excellent organization and planning skills, with the ability to exercise independent judgment to prioritize competing demands and handle multiple projects simultaneously.Self-motivated and proactive with a strong sense of ownership to complete tasks.
