Title: Director of Analytical Network Testing (Cell Therapy)

The

Director Analytical Operations

will play a critical leadership role in advancing cell therapy development. Expertise in analytical methods, process development for both cell therapy drug product and viral vector, and GxP lab operations will be essential for ensuring the quality and safety of cell therapy products. Leading a team, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, and driving strategic decisions related to analytical testing, instrument standardization, tech transfer, and process development.

Key Responsibilities:

Define and implement analytical testing strategies for BMS Cell Therapy development organization.

Define and implement analytical instrument standardization strategy across analytical development network.

Represent the Cell Therapy function on key leadership teams, providing guidance and setting guidelines for the global analytical network.

Coordinate partnerships with teams such as Regulatory, Quality Assurance, and CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls).

Spearhead Operations engagement with development technical and leadership teams.

Lead standard work for new modalities, including tech transfer strategies.

Hands-on experience with methods related to Cell Therapy and vector manufacturing.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to help optimize processes for drug product and vector development.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience:

PHD in biomedical/Chemical/Materials Engineering, or equivalent Life Sciences discipline.

At least 10 years of experience in cell therapy, or more than 15 years of experience in pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology fields, manufacturing operations and quality/analytical experience.

Experience managing a team of significant complexity focused on analytical testing.

Experience in managing executive stakeholders, developing talent, engaging, and motivating people.

Strong Analytical/Technical functional expertise.

Ability to lead and influence multidisciplinary, cross-functional teams.

Ability to critically assess overall risk to business cases, project timelines/plans and resolve or escalate appropriately.

Demonstrated (complex) portfolio management leadership and innovative thinking.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrated success in driving optimal business objectives in a complex matrix organization.

Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask and work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Experienced in leading change and a demonstrated ability to accomplish results and meet deadlines and commitments.

Possesses strong collaboration, delegation and interpersonal communications skills and shares critical information with project team and senior leaders.

Demonstrated analytical and logic skills with a focus on fact-based decision making.

Compensation:The starting compensation for this job is a range from $194,000-$242,000, plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility). The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and where the job is performed. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
