We are hiring PIPE LAYERS -Minimum of 3 years of experience in pipe laying (must have!) -JOBSITES RANGE within the Portland Metro area (details provided when invited in for interview) -PAY: $29 - $36-SCHEDULE: Mondays-Fridays -HOURS: 45+ (with overtime pay) -Year-round work -JOBSITES RANGE from: Portland, OR - Hillsboro, OR - Salem, OR - Clackamas, OR - Tualatin, OR A Day in the Life of a Pipe Layer at Kerr Contractors: Lay pipes for storm drains, sewers, and water mains Set and keep the right line and grade for the job Put together different types of pipe fittings and connections Install parts and pieces for water and sewer systems Set up, finish, and adjust structures, vaults, and boxes for storm drains, sewers, and water systemsWhat We're Looking for in Our Pipe Layers: Experience putting in storm and sewer systems, pipe fittings, and valves Know-how to use surveying tools to make sure everything is installed correctly and lines up Ability to test systems to find and fix problems Comfortable using different safety systems for trenches and holes Can read plans and keep things lined up and at the right grade Follow safety rules and work well with a team Take care of and fix pipe laying tools and machines Have a good track record of finishing tough pipe laying jobsMUST HAVES: Must have a valid driver's license Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and physicals Submit to background screening Reliable transportation Comfortability in confined spaces *Please note that this position require pre-employment screening, including drug and background check, as a condition of employment.Generous Employee Benefits Package: Employer-paid monthly premiums for employee for medical, vision, and dental insurance Employer-paid monthly premiums for dependents included (after 365 days of successful employment) Performance Bonuses (PTO) Paid Time Off Paid-Holidays 401(k) retirement plan with generous employer match up to 4% FSA Flexible Spending Accounts *All employee benefits are subject to a waiting periodBuilding roads & bridges that unite us, Kerr rolls up its sleeves, and gets the job done.
