Apply now to be considered for this excellent career opportunity.With direction and assistance from the CEO and the Quality Assurance Manager, conducts all quality functions within the plant. Responsible for quality functions including customer and supplier SCAR follow-up, maintaining the calibration system, developing inspection reports, assisting in lean manufacturing initiatives, performing inspections daily to aid the quality department team, and process improvements with the use of analytical data and lessons learned. The Quality Engineer will be the backup process owner for all Quality functions in the absence/vacation of the Quality Assurance Manager.Position:

SalaryResponsibilities/Daily Tasks:PPAP Process Ownership, this will include all levels of the PPAP with directive from the Quality Assurance Manager.Process owner of the calibration system utilizing the Gage Trak software. This includes performing calibrations to meet industry standards and working with the Quality Assurance Manager and Purchasing Manager for outsourcing of calibrations as needed.Performing Gage R&R and data analysis utilizing the High-QA software and updating quality records within the RG server.Working hands-on with FAIRs and PPAPs with the quality technicians to ensure compliance with processes and customer requirements.Performing First Piece, Incoming, In-Process, and Final inspections as delegated by the Quality Assurance Manager.Lead project management programs as directed by the General Manager and/or the Quality Assurance Manager.Assist the Quality Control team in Lean Manufacturing efforts as a result of CARs and KPI results. This will include continuous communication with both suppliers and customers throughout the process.Perform time studies and assist the Engineering Department for process improvements due to low efficiency rates.Perform Internal Audits with the directive of the Quality Assurance Manager per customer, industry, regulatory & statutory requirements. This will include on-site visits with suppliers as directed by the Quality Assurance Manager.Development of in-process inspection reports which identify key characteristics and critical dimensions. Review the data and perform capability studies based on the data provided using the High-QA software program.Assisting the Quality Department in CMM programming with both PC-DMIS and Modus software programs.Qualifications:Previous leadership role in quality preferably within a gear-making production plant. The Quality Control Engineer needs to have a thorough understanding of all quality procedures, measurements, reports, compliance standards for ISO, AS9100, IATF, ITAR, and SOX. Must be familiar with all quality aspects of gear production and be prepared to implement improvements and changes as needed to the entire gear manufacturing quality process. Experience in reading blueprints and have a working knowledge of customer specifications and industry standards. Experience with measuring instruments such as ID/OD micrometers, calipers, snap gauges, bore gauges, CMMs both manual and CNC (PC-DMIS & Modus Software), Hofler gear inspection machine, dial indicators, and tooth verniers.Work Environment:

Gear manufacturing plant, shipping and receiving, extensive plant noise, dust, dirt, grease, oils, and fumes. Extensive analytical and computer work required. Limited but essential travel required - domestic and international (current travel visa required).Seniority Level:
