Title - Analytical Development Senior Research Associate

Location: Boston, MA

Duration: 6 + months

Job Description

The Analytical Development Senior Research Associate performs a variety of well-done support functions and performs analytical procedures as outlined by their supervisor. The Analytical Development Research Associate / Senior Research Associate will support the goals and timelines for the Cell Analytical Development team through timely completion of assay development projects, demonstrating excellent documentation skills.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Performs various experiments to support analytical method development for cell therapy product and other biologics product.

Performs sample testing and data analysis following established methodologies and procedures, with minimal supervision and rapid turn-around time.

Maintains excellent documentation of experiments and studies.

Authors and reviews SOPs, protocols, and reports as needed.

Troubleshoots, optimizes, and trends assay performance in conjunction with manager.

Reports on project progress and presents data at internal team meetings.

Performs laboratory support duties ensuring the laboratory functions efficiently.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge and Skills

Experience with one or more of the following analytical techniques: HPLC, ELISA/MSD, qPCR/ddPCR, SDS-PAGE, Western blot, CE-SDS, potency assays.

Ability to follow safety regulations and work in a GMP-like laboratory environment.

Displays emerging ability to modify experimental designs and protocols to enable experimental and/or methodological improvement.

Demonstrates independent reasoning, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.

Excellent communicator (oral, written) with proven ability to build open and collaborative relationships and work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary and matrixed team.

Ability to navigate a fast-paced work environment and multi-task effectively.

Ability to utilize MS PowerPoint, Excel, and Word to perform tasks.

Time management and project management skills.

Required Educational Level

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent degree) in Biology, Chemistry, or equivalent and 1-5 years of experience.

Master's degree (or equivalent degree) in Biology, Chemistry, or equivalent and 0-2 years of experience.

In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related academic/vocational experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Preferred Experience

Knowledge and hands-on experience with analytical method development (e.g. characterization, release assays).
