The Undergraduate College System at UC San Diego is unique, organizing the undergraduate experience around a comprehensive College system. Each College, with approximately 5,000 students, provides personalized advising, support services, and leadership opportunities within a welcoming community. The Undergraduate Colleges Business Office (UCBO), established in 2012, provides financial, human resources, academic personnel, facilities management, and related administrative services to the undergraduate colleges.Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Education (AD), the Senior Human Resources Analyst leads the preparation of strategic HR plans. This role involves active participation with the AD, Council of Provosts (COP), and Financial Manager in strategic staff and academic HR planning, and managing overall HR/AP support activities.The Senior Human Resources Analyst is responsible for the day-to-day work direction, planning, support, and HR reporting for the Undergraduate Colleges. This includes providing analysis and reports to facilitate strategic planning efforts.Responsibilities include planning and oversight for personnel and payroll activities for 250+ career and academic staff and 750+ student employees. The Analyst serves as the primary HR advisor for College Unit Heads and senior management on HR issues, managing a wide variety of complex and sensitive HR matters.The role also involves supervising and training staff responsible for HR functions, including recruitment, hiring, transfers, leaves, separations, benefits, classification, compensation, employee labor relations, performance management, and payroll timekeeping. The Analyst will develop, implement, and revise policies and procedures, and maintain effective systems for coordination and guideline updates.QUALIFICATIONS

Demonstrated experience with employment, compensation, classification, employee/labor relations, performance management, benefits, organizational planning, and training and development. Comprehensive knowledge and experience in human resources management and practices.

Demonstrated experience in job analysis, classification, and compensation, with deep knowledge of relevant policies and best practices.

Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with academic personnel processes related to recruitment, appointment, and salary review.
