Position Overview

This is a new role that will work collaboratively across multiple functions to execute a strategy that elevates the profile of the Global Technology department. The Director, Technology Communications will produce written collateral in the voice of the CIO for Board, Executive, town halls and other meetings; they will work on message and content development, to include talking points, emails, presentations, and web content for the company’s CIO and strategy team. The individual will collaborate with stakeholders outside of the department, to include the corporate communications team and is expected to gain an understanding of the company’s communications and brand requirements and guidelines.Responsibilities

Shape the Communications Strategy for the Technology department, particularly as it relates to organizational strategy and operations.Write crisp and engaging content for the company’s CIO and other senior technology leaders to reach both internal and external audiences.Adapt his or her writing style to the “voice” of the leader so that his/her messages are consistent and clear.Coordinate the editorial review process for executive communications.Work closely with communications and marketing teams to develop impactful content that elevate the visibility of our technology department.Serve as a trusted partner and advisor to technology leadership, ensuring effective communication and messaging that is clear, authentic, and aligned with the overarching brand narrative.Review and edit CIO presentation decks to ensure consistency in tone, style and content.Partner with other communications roles across the department to set a consistent approach and ensure alignment and consistency in messaging.Create and implement metrics & reports to measure effectiveness in the spirit of continuous learning and improvement.Perform other duties as necessary.Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCERequired:Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Communications or a related field)10+ years of relevant experience, including experience with executive communication in complex organizations, employee engagement and change managementExperience working in or closely with technology teamsPreferred:5+ years of executive communicationsExperience working with C-suite and senior leadership with a track record of synthesizing business and technology priorities.Experience in the insurance or financial services fieldSKILLS AND ABILITIESRequired:Superior written and verbal communication skills with strong ability to adapt voice and style to different individualsStrong strategic thinking, analytical skills, with the ability to translate business and technology objectives into clear and concise communicationsExcellent interpersonal skillsExtraordinary attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentAble to navigate a matrix environment with ambiguous situationsAdept at building strategic plans and translating into practical applicationsHigh level of professionalism and integrity with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential informationAbility and willingness to work outside of normal business hours when necessary to accommodate various time zones in our global workforceCompany Overview

Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location.
