Job Description
The Senior Claims Counsel - D&O, E&O, FI is responsible for managing and resolving complex claims related to Directors & Officers liability, Errors & Omissions liability, and Financial Institutions liability. This role requires a deep understanding of the insurance industry, particularly in these specialized lines, as well as strong legal acumen to navigate complex litigation and coverage issues. The Senior Claims Counsel will work closely with insureds, brokers, and outside counsel to ensure that claims are handled efficiently and in accordance with policy terms and company guidelines.Salary$160-$170k +/year (based on experience)ResponsibilitiesOversee and manage a portfolio of complex and high-value D&O, E&O, and FI claims from inception to resolution.Provide legal analysis on coverage, liability, and damages issues.Engage and manage outside counsel in the defense of claims, ensuring effective litigation strategy and cost management.Ensure all claims are handled in compliance with internal guidelines, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.Prepare detailed claims reports and presentations for senior management.RequirementsBachelor's Degree or equivalent experience7-10 years of claims and/or legal experience with a proven track record of exceptional claim resultsNeed to have or be able to obtain and maintain an Insurance Adjuster License within 90 days of hire, where applicablePrior negotiation experienceProfessional designations preferred (e.g. CPCU)
