We are seeking an experienced commercial general construction Chief Estimator who can actively engagewith clients and excels in attention to detail and precision. The role involves bidding, planning, organizing,scheduling work, and evaluating cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate should be goal-oriented,adaptable, and a team player. The selected team member will be responsible for nurturing both existingand new client relationships while also efficiently and accurately conducting detailed takeoff work. Inaddition, the Chief Estimator will be expected to respond to project advertisements for bidding ornegotiation in line with company goals. This role will involve leading the estimating team andcollaborating with Project Managers to ensure a seamless transition on awarded projects and duringsubcontract negotiations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Analyze, compare, and interpret information including unspecified information to make conciseand accurate judgments based on knowledge and experience to establish project timelines andbudgets.Lead a team of estimators to prepare competitive bids using expertise in lump-sum and time &material.Solicit subcontractor bids, distribute plans to qualified bidders, follow-up and review bids.Review blueprints, specifications, and proposals to estimate time, costs, and labor for new andrenovation commercial construction projects or construction management services, utilizingspecialized methodologies and techniques.Demonstrate exceptional client and subcontractor relationship management throughoutmultiple, simultaneous short- and long-term projects while coordinating with others to executework procedures.Prepare project budgets and assign cost codes to subcontract and purchase orders.Engage in discussions and reach agreements with subcontractors and suppliers, as well as createcommitments for subcontractors and purchase orders.Ensure consistent and close communication with vendors and subcontractors during the biddingprocess, addressing any scope-related inquiries.Communicate professionally and clearly both internally and externally with clients, ourdepartments, and external companies, such as suppliers, subcontractors, and other businesspartners, to collaborate effectively and achieve project objectives from various sources.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTSBachelor's degree in building construction, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or arelated discipline is preferred for commercial construction projects.Minimum of 10 years prior experience in a Lead Estimating position bidding projects ranging invalue between $500k up to $50MM with varying complexity within the commercial constructionindustry, preferably a General Contractor within the state of Florida. Strong knowledge ofDivisions 2 through 16, and quantity takeoff experience in Division 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, and 10.Conceptual estimating is preferred; ability to visualize and rely on experience to fill in gaps fromschematic or conceptual drawings to construct a complete project.The ideal candidate should possess advanced skills in Bluebeam Revu, with a strong emphasis ondesign, markup, quantity, and cost estimate bid takeoff tools. Proficiency (5+ years) in utilizingSage Timberline estimating software is highly preferred, along with advanced proficiency inPantera bid management or BuildingConnected software.Experience in collaborating with a variety of individuals and leading presentations with clients andarchitects to communicate project scope and cost estimates during the initial project phases isessential for this role.The position requires a strong level of judgment, integrity, flexibility, and credibility.The role requires the ability to travel, including taking commercial flights, for developmentopportunities, bid meetings, or visits to construction jobsites for tasks like observing work andtaking measurements.Drug-Free Workplace Program / Background Checks required.A valid state driver's license and driving history that meets company standards is required.
