Position Summary

Perform a broad range of professional high-level and complex administrative support functions for the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer (DCAO). Proficient in time and organizational management; timely and effective with multi-tasking in a very fast-paced environment; professionalism and discretion in the exercising of judgements in a highly confidential environment. Provide professional support for the DCAO in communicating and tracking complex projects and tasks with high level City, interdepartmental, and external impacts. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to scheduling, organizing meetings, agenda preparation, keeping daily meetings and office schedules on time, and managing daily correspondence on behalf of the DCAO.

The Assistant to the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer shall develop professional working relationships with executive team members, staff, City departments, members of the public, and internal departments to effectively coordinate goals and objectives of each entity.

This is an unclassified at-will position.

Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, or political science preferred;

and

Five (5) years of executive level experience as an Executive Administrative Assistant preferred.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS :

Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License or the ability to obtain by date of hire.

Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within 6 months from date of hire.

May be required to work weekends, evenings and special events on occasion.

Preferred Knowledge

Business letter writing and basic report preparation techniques

Pertinent Federal, State and local laws, codes and regulations

Operational characteristics of applicable computer software programs

Principles of business letter writing and basic report preparation

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft programs such as Excel, Word, and Outlook

English usage, spelling, grammar, correspondence formatting and punctuation

Analyze problems and conflicts and identify solutions

Work under stressful time and constrained situations professionally

Independently perform the most complex administrative support services
