The Opportunity
We are seeking a Manager, Supply Chain Logistics who is experienced, highly energetic, and committed to helping develop and execute Avidity’s supply strategy across all clinical programs and supporting the commercial strategies. The individual will be responsible for shipping documentation, shipping execution, compliance, storage & warehouse management, vendor management, and cross-functional communication across Avidity’s network. A strong knowledge of cGMP logistics and distribution, experience working with temperature-controlled (cold chain logistics, manufacturing and distribution operations, and knowledge of cGMP and FDA/EMA guidelines is required. As needed, this position will work cross-functionally with CMC, legal, finance, regulatory affairs, quality assurance, and IT.
What You Will Contribute
Shipping Execution
Responsible for executing shipments between CMOs and ensure that the quantity and quality are consistent with the shipment plan
Ensure that all the end-to-end transportation (pick-up to delivery) is coordinated, documented, and tracked in accordance with the company's shipping process (SOP)
Manage and coordinate freight forwarders and customs brokers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods
Resolve issues related to shipping, customs clearance, and delivery
Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders on the status of shipments and delivery schedules
Collaborate with internal teams, including CMC, Supply Chain, and Project Management, to ensure that shipments are aligned with production and inventory schedules
Shipping Documentation
Responsible for creating and maintaining all shipping documents and records
Manage and maintain CMO’s documentation requirements, such as shipping agreements and memos
Identify and resolve shipping-related issues, including inaccurate or missing records, damaged goods, and customs clearance delays
Compliance, Customs, and Government Agency Alignment
Follow up customs clearance and maintain the routine transaction data
Ensure compliance with customs regulations and trade laws
Storage and Warehouse Management
Create receiving documents for the third-party storage warehouse(s) in a timely manner
Coordinate the receiving and shipping process with third-party storage warehouse(s)
Manage and track monthly inventory and reconcile as necessary
Others
Lead and manage logistics-related projects
Review and track all costs related to logistics against the budget
Analyze cost data to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements
Coordinate communication with vendors and the internal finance team, handle any billing issues and disputes, and maintain good working relationships
What We Seek
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, pharmaceutical sciences, engineering, or related field required; Advanced Degree preferred
3+ years of industry experience within Logistics in the Pharmaceutical or Biotech industry
Experience in temperature-controlled (cold chain) logistics
Experience working with third-party CMOs manufacturing, storage warehouse, and freight forwarders/customs brokers
Proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint, at a minimum.
Knowledge of Smartsheet, Microsoft Visio
Experience with ERP systems
Knowledge of shipping qualification and validation is a plus
Highly proactive and organized with attention to detail
Proven track record of effective collaboration with external providers.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to facilitate constructive and expedient problem-solving.
Demonstrated excellent communication (oral and written), teamwork, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
Ability to travel as needed
What We Will Provide to You:
The base salary range for this role is $141,300 - $156,200. The final compensation will be commensurate with relevant experience, skillset, internal equity, and market factors.
