The Director of the Therapeutic After School Program (TASP) is responsible for the development, oversight, and management of the Italian Homes after school, school vacation, and summer programs. The Director is responsible for all aspects of the program, including: staffing patterns, daily program structure, activities and groups coordination, family involvement, system partnerships, referrals and discharges, and overall program stability and safety. They will also maintain partnerships with public schools and other referral sources; interfacing with current referral sources and generating new referral sources to ensure full utilization of programs. The Director will hire, supervise, and evaluate milieu counselors for these programs in conjunction with the Associate Vice President of Day Programs. The Director will ensure regulatory compliance and compliance with internal protocols and procedures for the after school and camp programs. The Director will develop, oversee, and maintain program systems for intake, discharge, and curriculum development.

Administrative
Ensure compliance with agency philosophy, mission statement, policies, and procedures.
Comply with standards of EEC; OSHA; DMH/DCF; contracted agencies; and other regulating bodies.
Develop and maintain a smooth referral and intake process for all referrals.
Oversee the use of budgeted monies for the program reporting financial status to the AVP of Day Programs and IHC Finance Department, manage budget.
Facilitate communication within the program and with program collaterals.
Programming and Expansion
Work closely with IHC leadership team to pursue programmatic growth and development.
Structure the daily routine for all students in the TASP program, create thoughtful and thorough outlines and curriculum for staff members to lead, bring creativity and consistency to the program.
Stay informed of changes in external systems that impact the running and/or finances of the Programs.
Ensure the maintenance of a therapeutic, structured milieu and a strong team of milieu staff members.
Provide an atmosphere conducive to family participation in the program.
Facilitate efficient and informative intakes into the program and discharges from the program in conjunction with clinical and supervisory staff.
Ensure a creative, enriching, diverse experience for children, families, and program personnel.
Build and maintain relationships with all external collaterals and key community members.
In conjunction with the Development Department, ensure that all marketing materials, including web-based information, are kept up-to-date.
Personnel
Facilitate effective and supportive supervision of staff members in a consistent manner.
Oversee and implement systems to regularly evaluate and support staff.
Ensure regular staff training and refreshers for regulatory compliance and for the purpose of providing the highest quality of services.
Manage and plan staffing patterns for summer and vacation programming.
Navigate staffing patterns, identify hiring needs, interview future candidates for program roles, and partner with HR with progressive discipline and learning/development needs as identified.
Lead weekly program staff meetings, build a culture of positivity and team morale, and ensure staff members are operating within program policies, expectations, and regulations.
Qualifications
Masters degree required.
Independent Clinical license preferred (LICSW, LMHC) or license eligible to be obtained within 6 months of hire.
Minimum of five years experience working in child welfare; at least one of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.
Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills in conjunction with strong organizational and computer skills.
Strength in managing multiple tasks, thinking and planning systemically.
Follow up and follow through on tasks, able to prioritize.
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with collaterals and funding agencies.
Must be receptive and responsive to supervision and professional development, demonstrated ability to accept and give critical feedback.
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
A strong and positive representative of the agency with collaterals, partners and potential partners.
Evidence of sensitivity and respect for clients culture and socioeconomic characteristics.
