US Medical Head - Immunology

Are you ready to make an impact on patients with our leading pipeline? We are seeking a US Medical Head, Immunology to join our industry-leading BioPharmaceuticals team. In this role, you will be a member of the Immunology Leadership Team and will lead the US Core Medical Team for the brand. The position will be at the Executive Director level.The Medical Head is knowledgeable of the actions of regulatory bodies, in particular FDA, and has experience with clinical trials. An ideal candidate should have significant experience in immunology and would thrive on proactively engaging internal and external leaders.Accountabilities:Co-lead the US Brand team with the Commercial Brand Leader.Lead Core Medical Teams (CMT).Be accountable for the brand medical strategy and creation/delivery of brand medical plan.Manage and develop direct reports and deployed resources including brand Medical Directors, Field Medical Team, and Director of Medical Affairs.Ensure compliance with all AZ corporate policies.Develop and maintain relationships with key external and internal stakeholders.Travel approximately 30% of the time.Essential Skills/Experience:MD degreeMinimum 5 years in pharmaceutical/medical industryStrong leadership skills – experience recruiting, retaining and developing direct reportsKnowledgeable and experienced with the development of pharmaceutical productsComprehensive understanding of pharmaceutical product planning, regulatory environment, marketing and promotionComprehensive understanding of the U.S. healthcare environmentStrong business acumen, including working knowledge of changing U.S. payer and provider landscapeProven ability to interact productively with both commercial and scientific colleaguesDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teamsHighly developed verbal and written communication skillsStrategic thinkingAbility to travel nationally and internationally.Desirable Skills/Experience:Board Certification in Rheumatology/ImmunologyStrong scientific background; knowledge and experience in Rheumatology/autoimmune diseaseBroad cross-functional pharmaceutical and cross-functional general management experienceGlobal experience within the pharmaceutical industryWorking knowledge of FDA requirementsAre you ready to join our thriving BioPharmaceuticals team and make a meaningful impact on patients' lives?
