Position OverviewThe Front of House Manager provides the highest level of customer service. This position will uphold the Hawaii Theatre's mission to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience for our patrons. This position is a customer-facing role for the Front of the House of the theatre. It is responsible for Patron Experience, Coordination with Stage Productions, Concessions, Food and Beverage, and Special Events. In addition, this individual will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our patrons, the building, and staff in all public areas. This position reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesFRONT OF HOUSE

Leads the patron welcome experience.Real-time coordination with BOH shows and events.Coordinates and leads Security event plans for each event, ensuring the safety of patrons and talent.Leads day-of-event plan for HTC Volunteers.Organize and lead the front-of-house team at Hawaii Theatre Center events with high-caliber service for patrons, including retail, merchandise, food, and beverage.Operational planning for future shows with the Production team to fulfill talent contracts, guest experience initiatives, campaigns, and events.Maintain an inventory of all front-of-house items, including, but not limited to, chairs, tables, linens, special event equipment, and restroom supplies.Conduct regular training for FOH employees.Conduct weekly inspections of designated hospitality areas both back of house and front of house, and assist in prioritizing maintenance and repairs.Scheduling and payroll confirmation of FOH support, concessions, and bar teams.Coordinate with various support departments and attend necessary meetings to ensure a successful event and patron experience.Participation in ongoing collaborative meetings with theatre staff to ensure successful events and positive patron experience.Creation of Event Orders (EO) to inform and instruct the theatre team, support departments, and vendors about essential deliverables and timelines.Building, enhancing, and upholding standard operating procedures to ensure successful events and safe, positive patron experiences.Represent the Hawaii Theatre Center with integrity and professionalism with existing essential theatre partner relationships, vendors, and members.

CONCESSION / FOOD AND BEVERAGE

Manage all inventory for concessions, and bars and coordinate outside vendor merchandising.Supervise, schedule, and train bartenders and concession staff.Maintain accurate inventory of all beverage stock including alcohol and concession items.Understanding and maintaining compliance with all state and federal liquor regulations governing the promotion and serving of alcoholic beverages.Maintain cleanliness and sanitary requirements of bars, kitchen, pre-function space, VIP lounge, and other areas as required by law.Oversee controls for handling cash and processing payments for concessions, merchandise, and other items sold through Hawaii Theatre Center concessions and tip distribution paperwork.Set up and break down concessions shows and special events.Set up/appropriate for all talent rider requirements (including dressing room requests - set up and breakdown).

Qualifications and Requirements● Bachelor’s Degree preferred● Effective verbal and written communication skills.● Basic knowledge of computer software tools (MS Word, Excel / Google Docs, Sheets)● Knowledge of Salesforce or other CRM platforms is highly preferred● Basic budget and accounting skills● Must be able to show or demonstrate a high level of organization● Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and prioritization skills under pressure in a fast-paced environment.● Reliable and dependable● Valid Bartender Liquor Commission Card (Hawaii)● Valid Food Handler’s permit● Minimum of 2 years experience as a manager or assistant manager in the food and beverage or service industry preferred.● High-volume customer service is desirable.● Must be available to work nights and weekends● Must have a dependable mode of transportation and a valid driver's license in the state of Hawaii.● Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods● Must be able to lift 25 poundsDisclaimerThe information presented indicates the general nature and level of work expected of employees in this classification.
