Together, these facilities form the Waterfront Petroleum Terminal Company.WPCs other businesses include marine transportation operations with tugboats and fueling barges in Detroit and East Chicago, Indiana, as well as truck and rail transportation and bulk cargo dock and material handling services. Additionally, throughout all methods of transportation and storage, Waterfront Petroleum Terminal Company blends and markets various asphalt grades into the paving, roofing, and industrial coatings industries.Job Overview:The Traffic/Logistics Coordinator oversees the scheduling and dispatching of vehicles or service teams, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods or services. This role involves coordinating with contractors, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues that arise.Key Responsibilities:Scheduling and Dispatching:Plan and coordinate the dispatch of vehicles or service teams based on customer orders, delivery schedules, and resource availability.Assign and prioritize dispatch tasks to contractors or service personnel.Communication:Serve as the primary point of contact for contractors, customers, and other stakeholders, providing updates on delivery status and addressing any inquiries or concerns.Coordinate with operations staff, vendors, and other departments to ensure seamless operations.Tracking and Monitoring:Monitor the real-time status of shipments or service requests using GPS or other tracking systems.Address and resolve any issues or delays that occur during the dispatch process.Documentation and Reporting:Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, including delivery logs, driver reports, and customer feedback.Prepare and review reports on dispatch performance, including metrics such as on-time delivery rates and operational efficiency.Problem Resolution:Quickly address and resolve issues such as delays, route changes, or vehicle breakdowns.Implement contingency plans as needed to minimize disruptions and ensure timely deliveries.Customer Service:Provide exceptional service to customers by ensuring timely and accurate deliveries and addressing any issues or complaints.Ensure customer satisfaction by maintaining clear communication and managing expectations.Compliance and Safety:Ensure that all dispatch activities comply with relevant regulations, company policies, and safety standards.Monitor and enforce compliance with vehicle maintenance schedules and driver regulations.Process Improvement:Identify opportunities for improving dispatch processes and efficiency.Implement best practices and new technologies to enhance dispatch operations.Skills and Qualifications:Organizational Skills:

Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and handle a high volume of dispatch activities.Communication Skills:

Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with drivers, customers, and other stakeholders.Problem-Solving Abilities:

Capable of quickly addressing and resolving issues that arise during the dispatch process.Technical Proficiency:

Familiarity with dispatch software, GPS tracking systems, and other relevant technology.Attention to Detail:

High level of accuracy in tracking deliveries, maintaining records, and coordinating schedules.Customer Service:

Ability to provide excellent service and handle customer inquiries or complaints effectively.Time Management:

Efficiently manage time and resources to ensure timely dispatch and delivery.Education and Experience:Education:

High school diploma or equivalent; associates or bachelors degree in logistics, business administration, or a related field preferred.Experience:
