Our 886-bed nonprofit, acute, tertiary, teaching Level I trauma center hospital is located in the heart of Los Angeles. The Pharmacy Department has over 500 staff members who provide comprehensive inpatient pharmacy services as well as outpatient services via two cancer centers, outpatient pharmacies and ambulatory care clinics.

The Pharmacy Initiatives Manager at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California reports to the Vice President and collaborates on strategic medication-related initiatives across Cedars-Sinai facilities, Affiliates and the Medical Network. The Pharmacy Initiatives Manager coordinates strategic pharmacy initiatives related to therapeutic breakthroughs, financial stewardship, transitions of care, employee prescription benefits, safety and quality, advocacy and regulatory compliance and new programs, services and evaluations. Key responsibilities include planning, design, project management, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. The manager identifies improvement opportunities, develops new processes, tools and techniques, performs gap analyses and supports the design of new services.

The Pharmacy Initiatives Manager performs job duties with sensitivity to the patients' diverse cultural backgrounds. Maintains competency skills to identify medication safety and quality concerns in the age-related population and institutes additional measures to provide a safe environment with consideration to the developmental changes in the patient population. Responsible for taking the initiative to continually learn and maintain clinical, regulatory, and financial stewardship knowledge.

Qualifications

Educational Requirements:

Doctorate Degree Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree. Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy.

Licenses:

CA Pharmacist License

Basic Life Support (BLS)

Experience:

2 years Delivery of clinical pharmacy services or supervisor/management experience

Post Graduate Year (PGY) 1 and PGY-2 residency or equivalent practice experience.

No experience required Lean management/process improvement experience

Physical Demands:

Sit at a desk or table with some walking, standing, bending, stooping, or carrying of light objects.

Perform continuous operation of a personal computer for four hours or more.

Use hands and fingers to handle and manipulate objects and/or operate equipment.
