We are currently seeking a

Regulatory Managing Scientist

for our

Chemical Regulation and Food Safety

Practice in

Washington, DC . In this role, you will work as part of a team providing a high level of project management, Federal and State regulatory and technical expertise, and project support to the consultants in the Chemical Regulation and Food Safety Practice.You will be responsible for:

Providing Federal and State pesticide strategy and regulatory supportInteracting directly with clients and regulatorsManaging and tracking client projects, project deliverables, and budgetsHaving a knowledge and understanding of the US EPA FIFRA/FFDCA regulation of chemicals and pesticidesProviding regulatory and technical review and quality control support for Federal and State pesticide-related projectsSynthesizing technical and regulatory informationParticipating in developing business and clientsDrafting, editing and proofreading complex regulatory and technical reportsYou will have the following skills and qualifications:

Bachelors degree in a Science related fieldFive (5) or more years of EPA pesticide regulatory experience such as Federal, State, or other authoritiesConsulting experience preferred (but not required)Solid understanding of Federal and State FIFRA guidelines and regulationsExcellent communication, writing, editing and proofreading skillsMust be detail oriented, able to work independently, and manage time effectivelyStrong ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects with competing deadlinesExcellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative environmentExperience with project management, budget tracking, and invoicing a plusExposure to sensitive information will necessitate considerable use of tact, diplomacy, discretion, and judgmentEntrepreneurial spirit is a plusApplicants are encouraged to submit a CV with publications (feel free to include publications that are in review or pending) [not restricted to 1 page].Life @ Exponent

Our consultants are rewarded for their technical and business contributions and have an opportunity to plan for future success and career growth. Exponent's total compensation plan is consistent with its expectations of the quality and quantity of work performed and with the professional standards set by Exponent. At the Manager level and above total compensation includes base salary, annual bonus, and 401(k) employer contribution of 7% of base salary.The base salary range for this position is dependent on experience and capabilities, which will be assessed during the interview process.Salary Range
