What We Need:

Obagi is seeking an analytical and organized, contract Staff Accountant to join our small but mighty Finance & Accounting team through the rest of the year (December 2024)! Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this candidate will oversee account reconciliations, audits, posting of journal entries, and other ad-hoc projects.

What You’ll Do:Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance to US GAAP.Prepare journal entries, recurring, accrual, and intercompany entries.Maintain detailed reconciliations of balance sheet & income statement.Provide detailed analysis and explanations of any variances.Maintenance of the fixed assets accounts.Review inventory reconciliations for accuracy and completeness.Provide necessary documentation and explanations for external reporting, audits & tax requests.Utilize internal ERP system to ensure accurate and timely data extraction and reporting.Identify and implement process improvement to enhance efficiency and accuracy.Assist with any ad-hoc reporting or projects as needed.What You’ll Need:

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is required, a focus in Accounting or Finance highly preferred.At least 2-4+ years of hands-on experience as an accounting lead, demonstrating a solid foundation general accounting principles and best practices; industry (beauty) experience and/or CPG experience highly preferred.Exceptional organizational and prioritization/time management skills; demonstrated ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and manage responsibilities across multiple customers simultaneously.Comfortable operating in a fast paced, ever-changing environment; someone who thrives in ambiguity and adapts quickly.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a heavy emphasis on mastery of Excel, showcasing the ability to manipulate data effectively and derive valuable insights; other technologies such as ERP systems, prior experience with Oracle a huge plus.An energetic, positive attitude that encourages a team and builds/maintains robust relationships.
