We are currently seeking a Senior Manager of Global Revenue and Technical Accounting who is the Subject Matter Expert leading research on technical and complex accounting topics. He or she supports the Corporate Controller to oversee global revenue policy compliance and provide practical direction to the global Finance and Accounting organization in the areas of revenue recognition, as well as technical and complex accounting policies and guidelines.

What we'll get you to doing:

Develop, document, and maintain global revenue recognition policies, procedures, and controls ensuring consistent implementation. Establish monitoring processes to ensure policy compliance and effectiveness of revenue controls.

Oversee global revenue accounting operations, including close processes, margin and flux analysis, reporting, and reconciliation of revenue accounts. Support regional operations, review/approve customer orders and non-standard contracts. Prepare/review complex revenue analyses, including multiple-element arrangements (MEA), revenue disaggregation, unfulfilled performance obligation (UPO) reporting, and lease classification testing.

Owner of stand-alone selling price (SSP) process globally, develop and maintain SSP methodology. Calculate SSPs for new products, conduct annual updates at global/regional levels in Oracle, and lead presentations and reviews with finance leadership and stakeholders.

Serve as subject matter expert in US GAAP revenue standards (ASC606 and ASC842), Danaher, and Molecular Devices revenue policies. Provide guidance on complex revenue initiatives, author global revenue recognition memos, deliver revenue recognition training, and educate Sales and non-finance functions on revenue compliance and requirements. Act as a business partner to Commercial Sales, including providing options and recommendations for deal structure and contract language to enable revenue growth while ensuring accounting compliance.

Research technical accounting topics, provide recommendations, and author technical accounting memos for complex or non-routine transactions. Lead M&A finance due diligence efforts, including planning, review, reporting, and integration.

Build organizational competency in revenue and technical accounting concepts through training, coaching, and process monitoring. Lead implementation of new/updated Danaher, Molecular Devices Accounting policies worldwide, as well as new accounting pronouncements, in collaboration with Regional Controllers to drive team and organizational success.

The essential requirements of the role include:

Bachelor's degree in field (finance, economics or accounting) with 9+ years experience OR Master's degree in field with 7+ years experience OR Doctoral degree in field with 4+ years experience

Revenue accounting operation expertise

In-depth knowledge of US GAAP standards and latest guidance (e.g. ASC606, ASC842, ASC326).

Operational experience with revenue recognition in a manufacturing organization, preferably extensive experience with operating type and sales type lease accounting.

Ability to communicate highly technical perspectives to individuals with varying degrees of experience in the subject matter, ranging from sales personnel and certain other customer-facing individuals to other finance personnel and executive management.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

CPA is preferred

Knowledge in IFRS is a plus

Oracle experience is a plus. Experience in leading a revenue system implementation

Experience in life science industry and manufacturing are highly desirable

The salary range for this role is $165,000 - $185,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
