Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of BI and EDW, the Azure Data Engineer is responsible for successful delivery of data and information to the entire organization. This role acts as an acknowledged expert on Azure data engineering resources with knowledge of data warehousing concepts and will be responsible for the design, development, implementation and support of the Enterprise Data Warehouse pipelines, dataflows and data delivery.

Essential FunctionsTranslate business requirements into secure and performant Azure solutionsDesign and develop ETL/ELT processes to support population of the Enterprise Data Warehouse and general data delivery needsDevelop modern Data Warehouse, Data Lake, data storage, and ETL/ELT solutions in AzureSupport implemented Azure solutions by monitoring pipelines, addressing user questions concerning data integrity, monitoring cost and performance and communicating functional and technical issuesEvolve a scalable, cost-effective Azure data environment and assist with developing a strategic roadmap for modern Data WarehousingEstablish and ensure compliance to database standards through the entire development life cycleMentors DW/BI staff and provides feedback and guidanceOther job-related duties as assignedMeet all compliance requirementsKnowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong analytical skills to solve and model complex business requirementsExperience and understanding of data warehouse design concepts, Azure data engineering resources and SQL including complex stored procedures.Experience developing Azure Data Warehouse and Data Lake solutions using Azure Data Factory, Data Flows and Azure Notebooks.Experience writing scripts and notebooks for Spark (Python, R, SQL) that access and manipulate files and data from storage accounts, SQL Servers, and API'sProficient with Azure Synapse and\or MS FabricKnowledge of RDBMS concepts and stored proceduresSelf-starter, with great analytical and communication skillsMust be a team playerSome experience with Microsoft SQL Server BI stack (Database, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS) a plusEducation and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or other technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience5+ years of experience in a complex data warehouse environmentHands-on Data warehousing project experience and experience in full life cycle Business Intelligence development, implementation, tuning and supportExperience extracting reporting/analytics requirements from business usersRequired Certification/License

Ability to obtain, and maintain a Ohio Casino Control Commission Gaming License, Ohio Casino Control Commission Sports Gaming License, and a Ohio Lottery Commission Gaming License
