Overview:The candidate is responsible for providing analytical support for the Banks asset and liability management functions to measure and analyze balance sheet risks using metrics such as net interest income (NII), economic value of equity (EVE), balance sheet gaps, sensitivity analysis, and stress testing analysis, etc. This position will report to the ALM Manager and will be responsible for monthly production, maintaining model assumptions, and meeting internal/external governance requirements. The candidate will work closely with other groups in Treasury and Finance who use the ALM model output.Responsibilities:Assist in designing and maintaining the ALM model framework with focus on monthly ALM production and ALCO reporting.Ensures proper controls on the quality and integrity of ALM metrics and reports produced for senior management and ALM committees.Aggregate and test key model assumptions, including interest rate scenarios, prepayment assumptions and new business volume pricing.Write clear and concise documentation, memos, and policies for ALM models and processes.Create executive-level presentation materials, simplifying complex topics and visualizing data.Use Empyrean ALM to model the balance sheet to support interest rate risk, funding, liquidity, and capital analysis.Assist in managing new model development and implementation, model validation and documentation.Coordinate with second line and third line of reviews to close and address any findings and observations relevant to ALM risks.Discuss liquidity, ALM risk, market conditions and fixed income hedging activities/strategies.Work with finance and business lines to understand deposit betas and attrition assumptions and use to update IRR frameworks.Anticipates changes in the regulatory environment and the business, conducts applicable research and makes recommendations for responding to emerging/changing regulatory requirements affecting ALM, Capital or Liquidity Funding.Perform all other job duties, and research and analysis assignments as needed and directed.Qualifications:
7 years of treasury or related experience with at least 3 years in ALM.CFA, FRM, or BTRM preferred.Bachelors degree is required, and an advanced degree is a strong plus, preferably in Economics, Finance, Statistics, and Mathematics.Strong understanding of ALM, Balance Sheet Risks, and Bank Regulation is a must.Strong understanding of different financial products and financial modelling techniquesUnderstanding of current trends across the banking industry, economic environment, Fed Policies and its impact on interest rate dynamics and earnings.Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required. Experience with SQL is strongly preferredExperience with ALM software is preferred (Empyrean, QRM and/or Bancware)Strong work ethic and intellectual curiosity.Strong organizational, critical thinking, and customer service skillsAbility to multi-task and manage competing deadlinesAbility to meet tight timelines and prioritize workloadsExcellent communication and analytical skillsAbility to work both independently and in a team environment
Compensation:The base pay range for this position is USD $80,000.00/Yr. - USD $155,000.00/Yr. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
