We are currently hiring Parent Partners to provide emotional support and parenting skills coaching to caregivers in the community and act as part of a larger wraparound team to support youth success.

Essential Roles And Responsibilities

In support of the client’s treatment plan, provide education, advocacy, crisis intervention, case management, rehabilitation, and other therapeutic services in a community-based fashion as they navigate through the systems of careUtilizes supervision, consultation, and training to provide high-quality services to families, including an evidence-based parenting curriculumLocate, coordinate and develop linguistically and culturally diverse informal and formal resources and networks for families in the communities where they resideAppropriately share a personal story to enhance engagement with families and increase awareness of clinical staff about parenting challenges and difficulties maneuvering the ‘systems’, and maintain appropriate professional boundaries with familiesProvides culturally competent education and hands-on coaching to parents to help them better understand how the systems work, and the process of accessing community resourcesAssists parents in completing Wellness Notebooks and connection to needed behavioral health servicesCoordinates treatment with referring parties and outside resources including schools, psychiatrists, support groups, child care, government assistance, family advocacy programs, and others as appropriateMaintains accurate, timely, and complete case records per Medi-Cal requirements and SDCC policies and proceduresMaintains clear, effective, and open communication between multi-disciplinary clinical staff, and administrative personnel within and between SDCC programsEncourage involvement of parents in our Program Advisory Group (PAG) and WrapWorks eventsAvailability to work eveningsFulfills all required training including SDCC Partners Training, applicable EBP trainings, cultural competency, and HIPAADIVERSITY STATEMENT

Valid California Driver’s LicenseHigh School diploma or GEDExperience as a consumer or caregiver of a consumer of Children’s Behavioral Health Services, Child Welfare Services, the juvenile justice system, Regional Center, or Special EducationGood verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary teamFluent in SpanishPreferred Requirements

Associates or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited universityPrior experience working in a wraparound program or as a parent educator/advocateProficient in Cerner (online medical records system)Total Rewards Package
