Live Here/Work Here!JOB SUMMARY:Provides tier II support for workstations, applications, mobile devices, network infrastructure and related technology. Support includes, but not limited to, installation, testing and troubleshooting of hardware, software and peripherals within Fort Bend County standards and guidelines. Works with a team of support specialists to provide optimal service and support to County employees. Communicates clearly and effectively, maintains confidentiality and courteously interacts with County staff with a professional demeanor. Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for own work group and department.Responsibilities:Identifies, analyzes, and initiates resolutions as second level support for all PC and peripheral connectivity devices.Responsible for installations, re-location, and upgrades of computer-based systems and computer peripherals.Responds to troubleshooting calls and repairs malfunctioning equipment to assist employees as needed; serves as departmental liaison.Support complex client/server systems maintaining minimal outages to end user computing.Work with I.T. staff as appropriate to determine and resolve problems received from county employees.Diagnoses connectivity problems; resolves or coordinates resolution of problems.Interacts with application software and operating systems to diagnose and resolve intricate problems.Arrives on time and accurately maintains timesheet in accordance with departmental policies.Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or similar science or engineering discipline and 1 year of relevant technical experience, or High School Diploma with 3 years relevant technical experience.Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail; Strong problem solving skills; Ability to evaluate a problem and determine an effective course of action; Ability to manage several projects and tasks simultaneously; Excellent customer service skills; Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.Proficient with Microsoft Windows operating systems and Mobile IOS; Proactively stays informed of technological advances and trends in IT.Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearances.Must possess a valid driver's license; must be able to maintain prompt and regular attendance.
A+ or N+ certifications preferred.Working knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP; Working knowledge of Ethernet, TCP/IP, network cabling, wireless, and remote access methodologies; Highly organized, with exceptional attention to detail.
SALARY RANGE:
$24.72 - $30.91 hourly, based on qualificationsCLOSING DATE:
