** IT SUPPORT SPECIALIST****Job Category****:** INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY **Requisition Number****:** ITSUP007798 Showing 1 location **Job Details****Description****Ashley Furniture HomeStore, the #1 Mattress and Furniture retailer in North America, has an immediate opening for an IT Support Specialist.** The ideal candidate will provide technical support for DSG and TDG, the stores and distribution centers.**OUR COMPANY OFFERS GREAT BENEFITS, INCLUDING****:*** Generous Paid Time Off (PTO)* Opportunity for advancement* Medical, Dental, Vision, & Retirement Benefits* Employee Purchase Discounts of 30% or more**KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:*** Assists in the implementation of new technologies* Sets up new users in Active Directory and the POS/ Reporting system as well as deletes/disables accounts upon termination* Performs onsite service to the stores and distribution centers* Determines IT needs at assigned onsite locations* Assists the IT managers in completing IT projects* Work requires following a limited variety of clearly prescribed standard policies involving application of rule, processes and procedures.* Performs duties within scope of general policies, procedures and objective. Analyzes problems and performs needs assessments. Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired result. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices. Makes recommendations that affect policies, procedures and practices. Refers exceptions to policy and procedures to the supervisor.* Supports desktops, laptops, servers, switches, routers, phones, portable electronics, POS systems, printers, copiers, credit card terminals, telephone system, televisions, PA systems, CCTV systems, scan guns, battery backups and performs file restorations.* Not responsible for supervising others.****Shift hours are****1. Saturday through Wednesday from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm**KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES** :* High School Diploma or GED required.* Ability to assess a situation, seek multiple perspectives, and, if necessary, gather more information to arrive at an appropriate solution* Ability to understand the technology needs and effectiveness of any given IT project including hardware/software needs and end users ability to operate the technology* Competent level understanding of IT related technology a must* Ability to compile reports for management inquiries* Must be able to troubleshoot all technologies in the IT department* Must be able to explain technology to end users, executives and other IT professionals in terms they can understand* Work Experience 3 to 5 years working in an IT help desk environment.
