The PositionThe Port of Portland is seeking to fill an

Information Technology Project Manager

position. This is an exceptional opportunity to apply and put your project management skills and outstanding customer service to the test! The successful candidate will have superior skills in project management, developing project plans, and leading project teams. They will possess the ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams of technical and non-technical staff, customers, stakeholders, and vendor resources to achieve cost, schedule, and quality objectives for projects.

Essential Job DutiesManage complex capital and operating IT projects by developing and managing project plans, covering the major items of scope, schedule, budget, and quality.Manage project support and implementation teams, including internal support and consultants.Coordinate and report project updates, including costs, and risks, issues, and impacts to project sponsor(s) and stakeholders.Assist with the preparation for capital improvement and operating projects, developing the work scope, schedule, budget, justification, and marketing efforts related to obtaining funding approval.Manage consultant selection processes and contracts, including those requiring commission approval.

Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in field of Information Technology (IT) or Management Information Systems (MIS), or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience is required. Master's degree is preferred.Minimum five (5) years experience in the management of complex IT capital and/or operating projects within established cost, quality, scope and schedule parameters as an IT systems and/or applications analyst;Experience with project and portfolio management tools and systems preferred; or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience.Ability to pass and maintain a Criminal History Records check and Security Threat Assessment required for a PDX Security Badge.License and/or Certification: Project Management Professional (PMP) (preferred).Demonstrated skills:

Demonstrated IT project management skills and expertise.Promote leadership, good judgment, and technical competence.Have excellent project management and organizational skills.Promotes safety as a guiding principle and a regular practice in accomplishing work.Focuses on safety improvements and complies with safety and health policies and procedures.Shows the utmost respect for others and is a proven team player.Ability to:

Communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.Speak to management groups presenting information in a clear and concise manner.Motivate and organize multidisciplinary technical project teams.Demonstrate commitment to valuing differences among individuals and passion for being inclusive.

Supplemental and Selection InformationSELECTION PROCESS

(tentative schedule)

:A minimum qualification evaluation of education, training, and experience of submitted application packets will take place by Human Resources the week of September 20, 2024.

A Subject Matter Expert (SME) Panel will perform an evaluation of experience and training taken from your employment application materials including any responses to the supplemental questionnaire.

Our goal is to schedule virtual first round of interviews with candidates who successfully passed the SME evaluation as soon as possible.
