SUMMARY

The Credit Manager is responsible for coordinating and underwriting Commercial, C&I, SBA, Real Estate Lending, Consumer and Commercial Equipment Leasing transactions while adhering to all Bank policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations.

Ensures compliance with established Bank policies and procedures. Demonstrates knowledge of, adherence to, monitoring and responsibility for compliance with state and federal regulations and laws as they pertain to this position including but not limited to the following: GLBA (Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act), Regulation Z (Truth in Lending Act), Regulation DD (Truth in Savings Act), Regulation B (Equal Credit Opportunity Act), Dodd–Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (Dodd Frank Act), Elder Abuse Laws, Bank Secrecy Act in conjunction with the USA PATRIOT Act, Anti-Money Laundering and Customer Information Program, Right to Financial Privacy Act (state and federal) and Community Reinvestment Act.

REQUIRED DUTIES

Supervises credit officers, credit analysts, and other support staff in the underwriting of SBA or commercial loans.

Reviews and recommends appropriate loan structures based on credit and borrower information to determine loan eligibility.

Conducts site visits, meetings, and interviews with borrowers.

Conducts financial and repayment analysis with a focus on cash flow, liquidity, leverage, debt service coverage including global DSC analysis to assess and identify a borrower’s repayment ability.

Makes recommendations for approval or non-approval.

Attends, prepares, and presents new and additional credit proposals in loan committee meetings.

Performs thorough analysis of combined DSCR for underwriting of guarantors.

Reviews all third-party reports, appraisal, environmental, title, and property condition assessments to ensure adherence to the Bank’s loan policies and procedures.

Reviews legal documents, appraisal, environmental, and other reports.

Prepares credit approval memos in compliance with the Bank policies and procedures.

Provides direct support to Manager to develop and analyze all relevant credit information in conjunction with account officers pertaining to more complex commercial and business loans.

Provides leadership, training, and supervision to team members on Company’s lending guidelines and regulations.

Processes, solves and answers complex customer transactions, problems, or inquiries.

Reviews and corrects credit memorandums prepared by team members.

Consistently applies superior decision-making techniques pertaining to inquiries, approvals, and requests as they apply to existing policies and procedures, keeping within assigned approval limits and using these instances as learning tools for employee development.

Performs personnel actions including performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and interviewing candidates for employment; supervises the daily activities of the team including, but not limited to, effective delegation of assignments, developing work schedules, and providing necessary training.

Ensures adherence to the Bank’s loan policies and procedures.

Plays a positive role in the development and growth of assigned department staff through excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with strong delegation skills assuring a highly cross-trained staff.

Assumes responsibility for various job duties in the absence of staff members or in overload situations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; or 10 years of related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Work-related experience should consist of an in-depth background in Commercial, C & I, or SBA compliance and supervisory skills.

Advanced experience, knowledge, and training in progressively responsible Company administration, management, and supervisory activities.

Advanced experience, knowledge, and training in all Commercial, C & I, or SBA operational and lending activities and terminology.

Advanced knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, Company operational policies and procedures, and the Company’s products and services.

Proven ability to effectively train and instruct others in a formal classroom or one-on-one environment.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures.

Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to provide leadership, supervision, and training for 10 or more employees using positive supervisory techniques to ensure maximum productivity.

Some knowledge of human resource and labor laws and policies.

Intermediate skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; mainframe computer system; word processing and spreadsheet software programs.

Able to make conclusive recommendations and decisions based on independent analysis.

Intermediate math skills; ability to calculate interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages; balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.

Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to carry out instructions and instruct others, train personnel, write reports, correspondence, and procedures, and speak clearly to customers and employees.

Thorough understanding of management procedures; ability to plan department or Company activities (setting objectives, developing strategies, budgeting, and developing policies and procedures).

Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.

Ability to work with no supervision while performing duties.

Current driver’s license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities.

Pay $105,000 - $170,000 per year. The salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin from the beginning to mid-point of the salary range. Successful candidates may be eligible for bonus/stock/commissions/incentives at the Company’s sole discretion.
