10x Genomics is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our Quality Assurance team within our Operations division. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, a passion for life sciences, and the ability to design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines to improve quality processes and product quality. As a Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity, accessibility, and quality of our data, enabling our researchers and scientists to make data-driven decisions. You will also serve a crucial position in identifying technical requirements to lead the successful configuration and deployment of an electronic Quality Management System (eQMS) and a Laboratory Inventory Management System (LIMS).Responsibilities:Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of tools to automate workflows to improve data collection, verification, and upload.Collaborate with stakeholders (e.g., customer-facing support teams, centralized data team, finance, logistics, manufacturing engineering, quality, and R&D) to understand data requirements and ensure data is readily available for analysis.Identify root causes of data-related issues and partner with the stakeholders, ensuring minimal disruption to data workflows, and implement and optimize ETL processes to develop and scale data integration and analysis of quality-related data (quality control, nonconformances, manufacturing data) and from various sources.Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing data validation, cleansing, monitoring, and alarming processes.Document data engineering processes, standards, and best practices to ensure knowledge sharing and maintainability.Continuously evaluate and adopt new technologies and tools to improve data engineering processes and efficiency.Minimum Qualifications:BS/MS in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field with 3+ years of experience.Proficiency in programming languages such as Python.Experience with ETL development and proficiency in SQL; experience with transactional and relational databases (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL).Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Omni, Tableau).Experience with cloud-based data platforms & services (e.g., Snowflake, AWS Services).Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with bioinformatics data and tools (e.g., eQMS, LIMS).Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and data processing frameworks.Familiarity with machine learning and data analytics techniques.Understanding of data governance and regulatory requirements in the life sciences industry.Pay Range: $122,000 — $164,000 USDAbout 10x GenomicsAt 10x Genomics, accelerating our understanding of biology is more than a mission for us.
