Consistent and accurate glucose monitoring is the foundation of any diabetes management plan, so we’re committed to continuous improvement in the way patients and professionals measure, track and analyze glucose levels.As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will be part of the Global Operations and Quality Finance department at the headquarter in Alameda, CA. This position will have the opportunity to support our Global Quality Assurance and Compliance area including Quality Assurance, Post Market Surveillance, Technical Quality Assurance and Quality Excellence providing financial analysis and support. The Senior Analyst will execute a wide range of financial planning and analysis and decision support activities for Abbott Diabetes Care Global Quality Assurance and Compliance area. This includes the full range of responsibilities (e.g., general accounting, financial planning and analysis, financial reporting and internal control among others) to ensure the timeliness, accuracy, and integrity of all financial related information.

This is an onsite opportunity in Alameda, CA.What You’ll DoResponsible for the month-end close process of Global Quality Assurance and Compliance area based in Alameda, CA in compliance with Division and Corporate reporting requirements including among others:

Preparation and validation of journal entries (including interaction with Genpact and Corporate Financial Services teams)Actuals reporting and analysis of actual vs forecast

Responsible for ensuring balance sheet accounts are reconciled as per agreed timings, explaining balance sheet fluctuations and review resulting analysis with the Assistant Controller at least quarterly.Perform the forecasting, and analysis function for operating expenses, capital and project expenses, and balance sheet for Global Quality Assurance and Compliance area.Responsible for the assets management of Global Quality Assurance and Compliance area based in Alameda including assets settlement and periodic asset verification.Ensure adequate internal controls are followed.Manage a liaison relationship with Global Quality Assurance and Compliance area providing guidance and support in finance related matters for proper forecasting and business support.Participate in ad hoc/periodic meetings and projects from Global Quality Assurance and Compliance.Responsible for establishing, developing, and implementing appropriate processes and procedures to ensure that the financial planning process provides for efficient and effective decision support tools for senior management.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRINGRequired:Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in finance, accounting or economics)3-5 years financial analysis / FP&A experienceAbility to plan, implement, and administer financial information and systemsKnowledge of the principles, processes and standards for integrated financial analysis and reporting.Highly Proficient in MS Office especially ExcelStrong verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organizationDemonstrated ability to analyze and interpret financial data to make recommendations as well as problem solvePreferred:Master’s Degree / MBA preferredExperience with SAP, Hyperion EssBase, and Power BIApply Now* Participants who complete a short wellness assessment qualify for FREE coverage in our HIP PPO medical plan.
