The Executive Director reports to the President of the Board of Directors of the Iowa Paralyzed Veterans of America and holds responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the non-profit. The Executive Director will provide guidance and direction to the President and Board of Directors in shaping the future of the organization through vision, values, leadership, and strategy.Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Five or more years of experience in a management role.Flexibility to travel to all Iowa PVA events to include nights/weekends.Ability to understand and administer the financial reporting, budgeting, fundraising and requirements of a non-profit organization.Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements for a non-profit organization.Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, public speaking and demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with all levels of volunteers, staff and members.Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills.Ability to work with President and Board of Directors to develop consensus on Chapter activities to further member benefits.Ability to effectively organize time, work independently, handle confidential material, and work well under pressure to quickly adapt appropriately to changing situations.High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.Knowledge of social media and marketing platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.).Possess a valid driver’s license.Ability to sit for long periods of time and ability to type on a computer.Perform other duties as assigned.Key Responsibilities:Work with the Chapter President and Board of Directors to implement mission, vision, values, strategic plan, measurement and evaluation for the organization, in compliance with National PVA policies.Support the Chapter President and Board of Directors by maintaining open and regular communications and sharing information in a timely manner.Analyze financial data and operating impact to ensure accuracy and report findings to the Board of Directors to fulfill fiduciary responsibilities.Maintain an open and positive Chapter relationship with PVA by participating in teleconferences, traveling to conventions, and supporting PVA initiatives.Ensure commitment to and compliance with all applicable Chapter and National PVA Policies and Procedures across the organization.Manage and grow an effective local and regional fundraising program, pursuing and securing new and repeat revenue sources from foundations, corporations, government sources and individual donors.Prepare proposals and grant applications.Facilitate and attend all PVA events and outings.Manage and grow a robust Chapter volunteer program.Develop strategic partnerships in order to increase community awareness in support of the Chapter’s programs.Oversee day-to-day business activities.Present all expenditures to the Board of Directors for approval.In collaboration with the Chapter President and Board of Directors, develop organization and program budgets.Create sound business plans and committee initiatives in partnership with the President and Board of Directors.Manage and evaluate staff to ensure all job duties assigned are performed accurately and timely.Job Type:
