Summary:Housed in the Rush University Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (ODEI) the Manager, Education Programs will report to University DEI Officer and will work in close partnership with Rush University Colleges & Departments, Rush BMO Institute of Health Equity and Rush Health System Office for Diversity and Inclusion (HSODI). The Manager, Education Programs is responsible for the leadership, training and education of faculty, staff and students in the areas of diversity, equity and inclusion, justice and change management. The Manager will act as an advocate for structural change, grounded in principles of equity and social justice. Specific areas of oversight include designing and leading change management activities related to eliminating race and bias in health science education and the health system through University Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (ODEI) and oversight of all diversity, equity, inclusion, racism and bias education-based initiatives including those initiatives being carried out in partnership with the Rush BMO Institute of Health Equity (RBIHE) and in alignment with the RUSH 5-year Health Equity Strategic Plan. This role is intended to have a dual purpose – 1) To position the Rush University, as a national leader in health and social justice health education – curriculum, culture and climate, and practice; 2) To position the University Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (ODEI) as a national leader in inclusion and health equity in culture and climate, and practice through the design and implementation of change management strategies.

Manages the Health Equity Community Educators Speakers Bureau for Rush University in close partnership with RBIHE.
Creates a strategy to support the needs of the administration, faculty, staff, students related to the Rush University racism and bias initiatives.
Designs and implements a comprehensive training plan including train the trainer programs.
Creates a strategy to monitor and assess the culture and climate of the University & health system on issues related to diversity, inclusion, equity, racism, and bias.
Serves as cross-department/organization "expert" on change management, including: change strategy design and execution, stakeholder engagement, institutional readiness, leadership alignment, communication and training, project management, business process design, sustainment, and measurement
Develops a structured change management methodology for health justice, racism, and bias initiatives for Rush University.
Supervises program manager and co-supervises project-based work.
Delivers lectures, seminars and tutorials on DEI, health equity, social justice, education justice, racism, and bias-related content.
Advises faculty on teaching methods that are anti-racist and anti-oppressive
Regularly scans for best practices regarding transforming the University and health system to one that is actively anti-racist and inclusive.
Institutes DEI, anti-racism, and -bias leadership development programming, using data to drive decision-making about program content and structure. Partners with senior leaders and faculty to directly and indirectly ensure the development of leaders.
Structure and conducts complex qualitative and quantitative change management analysis, synthesis and presentation of results and recommendations
Actively identifies gaps, proposes changes, and implements solutions necessary to mitigate risks and drive implementation of racism and bias initiative
Publishes findings and processes in academic journals and online forums
Represents the University Chief DEI Officer, and when appropriate the RBIHE, to the broader health science community on issues of overcoming race bias.
Attends/presents at key conferences

Other information:Required Job Qualifications:
Master’s degree required
At least seven years of related experience in racial justice programming
Demonstrated leadership competency and ability to develop productive working relationships with multiple constituencies (faculty, staff, students, etc)
Strong team player
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent organizational and project management skills
Initiative to seek alternative approaches and solutions
Demonstrated ability to problem solve, multi-task, and understand the big picture
Commitment to customer service
Ability to enforce standards of professionalism and to resolve conflicts across a broad spectrum (involving faculty, staff, and student needs)
Successful track record of prior experience related to project management including managing large, multi-dimensional projects.
Preferred Experience
Earned doctoral degree
