Director of Centerpoint Kid's Ministry

Job Objective : To empower and equip adults and children to Make Christ Known. Our kid’s ministry has a heart-focused approach. The Director will empower and equip adult leaders to teach a heart to know Jesus, to orient their hearts toward loving Jesus, and unleash their hearts to follow Jesus on mission wherever they live, work, or play. Ultimately, we exist to Make Christ Known and become disciples who make disciples who make disciples.
Essential Functions :
Support the mission and vision of Centerpoint Church;
Be a champion of Centerpoint’s shared staff values: Fun-loving attitude, Love, Integrity, Grit, Honor, and Team;
Provide leadership and oversight of ministry for birth – 5th grade kid’s ministry at all campuses, including but not limited to:
Developing relationships and discipling children, parents, and volunteers;
Recruiting, training, empowering, and equipping Ministry volunteers;
Work with Centerpoint Kid’s Ministry assistants to recruit volunteers, develop curriculum, schedule and train volunteers, assign classrooms, and purchase supplies;
Partner with Director of Centerpoint Student Ministries on Wednesday night and Sunday discipleship opportunities/overlaps;
Lead the development of other areas related to overall kid’s ministry at Centerpoint Church campuses.
Participate in weekly staff meetings, weekly staff worship, and the general life of the staff of Centerpoint Church.
Job Description : The Centerpoint Kids Ministry Director oversees kid’s ministry at all campuses. Responsibilities include Sunday ministry (4-5 hrs) and Wednesday evening ministry (day-time + evening hours) for children from birth through fifth grade. The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Selection and implementation of curriculum and discipleship processes that align with the mission and vision of Centerpoint Church;
Spiritual direction of kids and adults in the way of teaching hearts, orienting the hearts, and unleashing the hearts of our people to know, love, and follow Jesus;
Oversight and support of kid’s ministry assistants at all campuses;
Recruitment, scheduling, and oversight of volunteers;
Creative leadership and expansion of Centerpoint Kids Ministry beyond our walls, extending the reach of the kingdom into our communities.
Qualifications:
Committed relationship with Jesus Christ and willingness to continue growing in Christlikeness through life-long learning, including but not limited to study, worship, and service;
Commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Centerpoint Church;
Commitment to Centerpoint staff FLIGHT values;
Passion for ministry, particularly in the area of seeing children discipled;
Strong leadership skills;
Strong interpersonal skills;
Energetic and willing to innovate;
Ability to recruit, equip, empower, and support volunteers;
Effective communication skills, both oral and written;
Previous experience with Planning Center or other scheduling software helpful but not required.
Education and Experience :
College degree in early childhood development, elementary education, social work, or a related field and/or an equivalent of related education and experience will be considered;
Past experience working with elementary-aged children in a school or ministry setting;
Previous experience coordinating adult volunteers.
