Job Overview:

Shriners Children’s Greenville is seeking a transformational

Director of Human Resources

position to improve and enhance HR processes throughout all aspects of HR discipline. These will include, but are not limited to, employee recruitment and retention and work with the Leadership team to improve, sustain, and continue effective employee relations strategies. The Director of Human Resources can expect to support leadership at both the local and corporate levels to strategize, develop, and enact policies and procedures to enhance the employee experience.

Responsibilities:

Develops benchmarks and other measures to assess performance of planned outcomes.

Provides data and trend information to hospital Administrator & HR Committee of the Hospital Board of Governors.

Ensures the hospital makes local compensation & benefit decisions that reflect the realities of the metropolitan and regional market.

Develops and implements, with corporate compensation, the process for establishing job grades and salary ranges that are locally equitable.

Ensures FTE quotas are not exceeded.

Develops strategies and programs to maintain a work environment that fosters employee commitment and minimizes turnover.

Serves as employee advocate, recognizing employee plus management rights and responsibilities of the hospital and SHC System.

Maintains accessibility to all employees and investigates employee relations problems, counsels and coaches employees and managers to resolve conflict/misunderstandings.

Review, evaluates, writes, and makes recommendations on hospital policy.

Administers benefits at the local level, keeps abreast of national/regional benefit trends and makes recommendations to SHC Corporate HR.

Fosters and supports change with a positive outlook among employees.

Some travel may be required.

Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in human resources or business.

7 years of HR experience with at least 5 years in healthcare.

Strong knowledge of HR disciplines, including compensation, staffing, workers’ compensation, labor law, employee engagement and compliance with state and federal regulations, laws and policies required.

Preferred:

Master's degree.

CHHR, SPHR, PHR, SHRM-SCP or SHRM-CP certification highly preferred.
