Responsibilities:Maintain the agency’s financial and accounting systems (Solomon and/or Microsoft Dynamics Software)Supervise and train employees on various financial systems.Assist in development of Agency budgets and forecasts.Prepare financial statements and reports as required for use by management, Board members, and government agencies and outside funding sources.Monitor internal controls and external reports to ensure proper compliance with GAAP and other applicable procedures, policies, and legal regulations to ensure checks and balances.Coordinate and prepare for financial audits as required by Agency policy, governmental or other applicable regulations, including single audit and Uniform Guidelines.Analyze financial data, prepare projections, and appropriate recommendations.Manage the cash flow of the Agency.Assist in Contract Management activities.Understand and implement federal and state regulations relating to Medicaid and Medicare.Provide financial analysis related to the Home and Community-Based Services program and related activities.Training personnel and helping team members develop their skills.Perform other duties as assigned.Education:Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited college or university is required. Master’s degree preferred.CPA license required.Experience:Knowledge and experience in healthcare and nonprofit industry.5-8 years of progressive (hands-on) experience in financial analysis, accounting systems, claims, billing, and accounts payable/receivable.Knowledge of technical and professional principles and skills of accounting for not-for-profits.Working knowledge of computerized accounting systems, spreadsheet, and word processing applications.Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.Ability to set priorities and manage work time efficiently.Ability to analyze financial data and make projections.Ability to maintain confidential information.Ability to supervise and manage others (use of strong managerial and technical skills).Must be a team player.The employee in this classification is responsible for the supervision and control of the financial system of the Agency, including budgeting and financial statement and report preparation. The employee must have strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls to perform assignments with considerable independence and functions in accordance with professional accounting principles and practices and applicable procedures, policies, and legal regulations. This person will oversee and advise less experienced workers in the Finance area. This person carries out the fiscal responsibilities and activities of the Agency under the direct supervision of the Senior Director and the secondary reporting relationship to the CEO. Strategic thinker with an ability to provide recommendations regarding industry trends and collaborate on business strategies and objectives.
