Overview:Our company is seeking a Sr. Die Corrector with extensive experience in die repair and aluminum extrusions. The ideal candidate should have experience working with press machines from 2000 ton 7” to 7000 ton 16” range and possess a background in tool design and philosophy. The Sr. Die Corrector will oversee all die shop operations for 2,000 profiles which represents 4-5,000 dies in the building. This role is responsible for ensuring that all dies are maintained, repaired, and improved to support our tooling strategy, production, and safety goals.

Responsibilities:Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Repair and maintain extrusion dies to ensure they are in proper working order.

Troubleshoot and problem solve issues related to die performance, reducing scrap, and improving quality.

Oversee all die shop operation for 2,000 profiles, including coordinating with the team to ensure all dies are repaired and maintained in a timely manner.

Develop and implement tooling strategy to improve production and reduce costs.

Communicate with die vendors to ensure die conforms to specified shape.

Inspect dies for conformity to customers drawings.

Ensure that all die shop operations are carried out in a safe and efficient manner.

Work with production team to improve processes and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Study blueprints, die models, and prototype parts, and compare them with die to ascertain contours.

Assist in training new die setters and die correctors.

Inspect smoothness and contour for conformity to print.

Adhere to strict safety and quality standards.

Regular attendance and punctuality.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Technical or Trade Degree or Certificate preferred.

Must have completed formal training program apprenticeship.

Experience:

3 to 5 years of relevant experience in die repair and aluminum extrusions.

5 or more years of relevant experience in die repair and aluminum extrusions.

Experience with press machines from 2000 ton 7” to 7000 ton 16” range.

Automotive structural parts experience is preferred.

Familiarity with CAD software.

Tool design experience.

Other Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong background with 8 to 12 inch presses.

Ability to be very precise.

Background in tool design.

Understanding of finite elements analysis as pertains to die construction preferred.

Experience with Microsoft programs; Excel experience is required.

Ability to coach, mentor and teach others.

Able to excel in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment.

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Good communication skills to communicate with vendors and team members.

Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints.

Motivated, self-driven, and eager to learn and apply new skills.

Strong attention to detail.

Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.

Must be eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsorships are not available.

The employee is frequently required to walk; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.

The employee is occasionally required to sit and use hands.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

Work Environment:

The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles and extreme heat.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Our salary ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
