Reporting to the Director of Alumni Engagement, the Assistant Director of Student and Young Alumni Engagement (ADSYAE) provides volunteer management, programmatic and administrative support for the Office of Alumni Relations (OAR), principally through student-alumni and young alumni programming initiatives. The ADSYAE creates, develops, and executes initiatives that connect students with alumni volunteers to enhance the student experience and strengthen retention through mentoring, career-related support, and community engagement.Essential Functions:Lead planning and implementation for current student-alumni programs including alumni dinners, alumni speaker events, welcome week programming, graduation fairs, AU Founders Day activities, and graduating student events.Advise the DC Young Alumni Chapter. Recruit and retain volunteers. Develop and review event proposals.Actively build and maintain a volunteer leadership pipeline.Liaise with campus partners to coordinate alumni engagement through student experience affinity-based reunions and senior days with athletics.Write, edit, and organize various communication mediums, including relevant Alumni Association web pages and newsletters.Perform other duties to enhance the mission and goals of OAR and DAR.Supervisory Responsibility:

This position reports directly to the Director of Alumni Engagement. This position may supervise student and/or part-time staff.Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

Full time, Non-exempt.Salary Range:

$26.47-$32.98 per hour, commensurate with experience.Required Education And Experience:A minimum of 2-4 years of successful experience in alumni or donor relations for educational institutions or non-profit organizations.At least one year of experience in volunteer management.Ability to independently formulate long-range objectives and manage varied programs and services.Demonstrated organizational and decision-making skills.Clear, concise reporting and writing style.Preferred Education And Experience:Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in training or experience is preferred.Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

Availability to work some nights and weekends; occasional domestic travel may occur.Benefits:
