Our Finance team provides critical visibility and accountability through digital tools and innovative approaches, driving significant improvements in how we operate. As a strategic thought leader, this Director partners with Consumables Sourcing to drive resilience, value, and trust for the organization. With strong financial acumen and analytical skills, this Director manages a team delivering financial planning, forecasting, management reporting, business analytics, and decision support. Preferred qualifications include a strong understanding of merchandising metrics to continue driving common language within the organization. This Director collaborates cross-functionally to understand business performance, identify opportunities and risks, prepares executive-level materials, and introduces new ways of working in Sourcing Finance, leveraging tools and data to quickly connect dots across business activities and drive insights for informed planning and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with leadership, business owners, and finance teams to understand trends, set targets, identify opportunities, and manage risks.

Partner with Sourcing and Merchant teams to drive business results and define strategic initiatives.

Simplify and clarify key customer-relevant metrics and KPIs across the business.

Lead strategic (LRP) and annual planning (AOP) processes for the Consumables portfolio, developing and implementing initiatives and plans.

Develop and implement business strategies, plans, and practices, analyzing costs and forecasts.

Evaluate processes, measure outcomes, and identify opportunities for improvement.

Promote a customer-focused environment, demonstrating adaptability and sponsoring continuous learning.

Attract and retain top talent through recruitment, selection, development, mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning.

Foster a culture of integrity and ethics, integrating these values into all programs and practices.

You'll make an impact by:

Being a Trusted Advisor:

Acting as the "CFO" of your domain. Quickly developing strong and trusting relationships with internal teams. Partner and participate in business strategy discussions and influence key business decisions with informed recommendations leveraging facts and data.

Driving Strategic Analytics:

Understanding key sourcing processes, financial/operational metrics, and business goals and objectives to analyze, interpret, and communicate business performance, identify opportunities, and enable strategic investment decisions.

Producing Informative Financial Materials:

Creating and presenting financial information to business partners in a clear and concise manner, demonstrating ability to articulate Sourcing impacts/opportunities to the retail merchandising business.

Delivering Data Driven Analysis:

Sourcing and compiling relevant data; organizing and validating data prior to data analysis; consolidating and identifying exceptions and patterns in data; synthesizing data in the creation of actionable customer insights; and translating information into action plans.

Practicing Continuous Process Improvement:

Working across the organization to identify and solve issues with a customer-oriented mindset, bringing new ideas forward and influencing positive change.

Gaining An Understanding of Sourcing:

Demonstrating ability to learn and keep up to date an understanding of Walmart Sourcing and new and creative solutions to help the business make the best choices.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field and 5 years' experience in accounting, finance, or relevant area OR 7 years' experience in accounting, finance, or related area.

4+ years' experience in Analytics, Planning, Business Management, Omni-Channel Merchandising, or a related area.

2 years of experience leading and completing cross-functional projects.

2 years of people leadership experience.

2 years of senior leadership decision support and influencing experience.

Minimum QualificationsOutlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field and 5 years' experience in accounting, finance, or relevant area OR 7 years' experience in accounting, finance, or related area.

2 years' supervisory experience.

2 years' experience leading and completing cross-functional projects.
