Under general supervision maintain, repair and install electrical systems, services and equipment for the district. Maintain and provide for safe condition and operation of all electrical fixtures and systems in district facilities.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:High school diploma or GEDValid Texas Driver's License (with less than 10 points on record):To be eligible to drive an Alvin ISD school district vehicle, an employee must meet the guidelines set forth in Transportation Code 521.002. Any employee or applicant who exceeds the maximum points within the designated time periods may not be authorized to drive a school district vehicle. (Points are assessed to moving traffic violation convictions and are governed by the Texas Transportation Code, Chapter 708, established byTexas Department of Public Safety.)
Special Knowledge/Skills:Must be able to pass drug test and background checkKnowledge of electrical circuits and wiring and operating principles of motors and motor controllersKnowledge of local electrical codesAbility to read blueprints, schematics, and written reference materialAbility to follow written and verbal instructionsAbility to perform mathematical calculationsAbility to diagnose and resolve problemsAbility to use hand and power tools
Experience:Five years in a related field
