Position Description
Join a team responsible for performing Configuration Management (CM) activities related to the design, development, and production of complex systems in a defense environment.
Primary Responsibilities:Work independently and as part of a team to manage changes to approved configurations using a systematic, measurable change process.Deliver and maintain the engineering Technical Data Package (TDP) and apply CM processes in accordance with the CM Plan.Support configuration management and quality audits.Develop solutions to problems of moderate scope and complexity, following company policies and procedures.Explain solutions, practices, and procedures to others in the organization as per standard procedures.Develop and maintain effective working relationships with functional personnel in Engineering, Quality, Logistics, Procurement, and Manufacturing.Skills Required:
Experience using a database.Good computer skills with MS Office suite to prepare appropriate metrics, reports, and documents.Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.Strong attention to detail, coupled with good time management and organizational skills.Sound interpersonal skills for interfacing and coordinating with company personnel, customers, and suppliers.Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.General knowledge of relevant configuration management and design engineering standards, manufacturing processes, and documentation, including military standards (MIL-HDBK-61A, MIL-STD-31000), industry CM standard (EIA-649), and/or drawing standards (ASME Y14.24 and ASME Y14.10).Skills Preferred:
Formal training in Configuration Data Management (CDM).Advanced user knowledge of MS Excel, including complex formulas.Familiarity with CMMI requirements.Ability to develop/demonstrate research and presentation skills.Experience using Windchill to manage product data.Experience Required:
Typically, a bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and 4+ years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Defense industry experience.Experience Preferred:
