Staff Accountant

Vaco is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team. You will be responsible for tax compliance, and preparation of a company's financial reports and statements for audit, revenue and fixed assets reconciliation and for supporting full cycle month-end closing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:Responsible for tax compliance, and preparation of a company's financial reports and statements for audit, revenue and fixed assets reconciliation and for supporting full cycle month-end closingResponsible for ensuring tax compliance with tax agencies by preparing in coordination with company tax accountants the timely preparation, review and timely filing and payments of federal and state tax returns, sales tax returns, property and tangible returns and other company tax filingsReconciles all transactions pertaining to revenue and cost recognition, including but not limited to performing sales and cost margin reconciliation, customer rebates, royalties, customers' freight-out, miscellaneous invoices and commissions reportsAdministers of fixed asset module including the recording of changes in fixed assets, reconciling to general ledger, and coordinating physical inventory, and providing reports as neededRecords and reconciles and monitors foreign currency evaluation, long/short term debt/leases classification, freight claimsSupports monthly financial closes, including assigned journal entries, balance-sheet account reconciliations, accruals, and overall maintenance and schedules of chart of accountsConducts mid-level general-ledger account reconciliations, verify accuracy of data, and identify and correct incorrectly recorded transactionsDocuments and updates accounting and policy manualsPublishes accounting calendar and coordinates monthly closing and annual audit activitiesPerforms other incidental and related duties as required and assignedEducation / Experience:
Bachelor's Degree with concentration in AccountingMinimum of 5 years of related experience and trainingAdvanced level in Excel and MS OfficeSAP or integrated System experienceFluent in Spanish & English both written and verbal

the individual's skill sets, experience and training;licensure and certification requirements;office location and other geographic considerations;other business and organizational needs.
With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure.
