Description

Rehoming and Relocation specialists are responsible for assisting and facilitating the placement of animals by completing adoptions for AHS foster animals, offering rehoming assistance and counseling to owners and facilitating relocation efforts between animal welfare organizations.

Duties & ResponsibilitiesReview adoption applications from potential adoptersSchedule and complete adoptions for AHS foster animalsManage foster-based adoptions database and dashboardProvide rehoming counseling to owners participating in AHS rehoming assistance programAssist customers with rehoming with the use of AHS approved technologiesProvide regular communication and updates to AHS fosters and potential adoptersAssist with the coordination of relocation efforts for other animal welfare organizationsProvide customers with referrals to organizationally approved rehoming programsSchedule owner surrender appointments on an as needed basisMonitor the AHS Rehoming email and maintain quick customer response times.Promote a culture of teamwork, positivity, and provide aid to other staff and volunteersProvide the highest quality of customer service to clients and visitors •Collaborate with other departments to accomplish departmental and organizational goalsSeek assistance from management staff for situations that require immediate problem-solving techniquesAssist with in-shelter customer service and animal husbandry as neededPerform any other duties as assignedRecord transactions, reconcile monies for daily deposits, and handle agency funds according to protocolQualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalentSix months previous customer service experience in an office or retail business setting preferredComputer literate in a Windows environment requiredAbility to utilize effective problem solving and decision-making skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsExperience in handling/reconciling funds preferredAbility to work in a team environmentAbility to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writingDesire to work with animals and peopleGeneral knowledge of animal welfareMust be able to set aside personal judgement for the betterment of the client and the animalsMust be able to communicate with and work well with a diverse clientele, different races, ethnicities, faiths, sexual orientations, income levels, etc.Valid GA driver's license or ability to obtain a valid GA driver's license, and must be insurable by Atlanta Humane Society's insurance companyPhysical efforts may require kneeling & bending, ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs, and ability to stand 10+ hours per day with reasonable accommodations
