Job Summary:

The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) seeks a Staff Accountant I to provide general accounting support in the Finance Department. This position will report to the Accounting Manager and is based at IFPRI Headquarters located in Washington, DC.

Duties and Responsibilities:Support day to day processing of accounts payable transactions to ensure collaborators and employees are paid in a timely and appropriate manner.Assist with resolving compliance inquiries of foreign wire transfers.Process monthly journal entries and cash receipts.Track and upload payment confirmations and other support in automated workflow platform.Prepare and process donor billings in Deltek Costpoint.Responsible for tracking and entering donor deliverables.Provide support in monitoring accounts receivable and donor collections.Assist with year-end audits, project audits, and other compliance audits as required.Assist in special projects and ad hoc accounting support as needed.Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree; or associate's degree plus 3 years of relevant experience; or high school diploma plus 4 years of relevant experienceStrong attention to detail.Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, WordFamiliarity with automated accounting systems in a project-based settingStrong analytical skills.Good oral and written communications skills.Demonstrated ability to consistently process high volume of transactions.

Salary Range : The expected salary range for this job requisition is between $48,600 - $59,600. In determining your salary, we will consider your experience and other job-related factors.

IFPRI Washington D.C. has a hybrid work environment that allows staff members a minimum of two days (preference for 3 days) in-office work and the remaining two to three days remote work.
