Special Inspector - Senior Engineering Technician

ESP Associates, Inc. (ESP) is seeking a Special Inspector / Senior Engineering Technician to perform inspection and testing services related to, but not limited to: soils, foundations, retaining walls, reinforced concrete, structural masonry, fire proofing and post-tensioned concrete.*Sign-on bonus may be available based on individual experience and certification(s)!
Responsibilities:
Review and understand project related drawings, specifications, and applicable building codesPerform Special Inspections in the field for project document and code compliancePerform routine and advanced field tests in accordance with ASTM, ACI, AASHTO, DOT or other standardsDocument observations and inspections of construction including discrepancy notices for non-compliant itemsCommunicate effectively with ESP project staff and project construction teamReport inspections and test results through ESP’s field data collection softwareQualifications:
High School Diploma, GED, or Associate Degree requiredThree or more years of experience in inspection and construction testing of soil, concrete, masonry and/or asphalt materialsACI Field Grade I CertificationICC Certifications (Must possess at least one of the following):
ICC SoilsICC Reinforced ConcreteICC Structural MasonryICC Spray-Applied FireproofingICC Structural Steel and Bolting
Effective oral and written communication skillsAttention to detailWillingness to work in varying weather conditionsNICET Certifications and/or Post Tension Institute (PTI) Level I or II certifications will be considered beneficial in the roleCandidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy.Corporate Information:
