Advantage Tech is searching for a Junior Developer to join their client's team in Overland Park, KS.
Job Summary:
We are looking for a motivated Junior Developer with a passion for learning and contributing to real-world projects. You will work alongside experienced developers to support and develop API integrations and help enhance the technology platform that powers our industry-leading benefits administration services.
The ideal candidate will have basic experience with API development, testing, and troubleshooting, and a desire to expand their technical skill set.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of RESTful APIs to integrate with various internal and external systems.- Work with senior developers to implement API endpoints, ensuring data security and compliance with industry standards.- Help troubleshoot API issues, monitor performance, and provide optimization suggestions.- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers and client service teams to understand integration requirements.- Participate in the testing of APIs, including writing unit and integration tests to validate functionality.- Maintain detailed documentation for API endpoints and integration workflows.- Contribute to the ongoing enhancement and scalability of our API services to meet evolving business needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).- Fundamental knowledge of RESTful API design and architecture.- Experience with one or more programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or C#.- Familiarity with API tools such as Postman, Swagger, or similar.- Basic understanding of data formats like JSON and XML.- Knowledge of version control systems such as Git.- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.- Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, technology-driven company.
Preferred Skills:- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.- Exposure to microservices architecture and containerization tools like Docker is beneficial.- Familiarity with API security measures such as OAuth, JWT, and TLS.- Basic experience working with SQL or NoSQL databases.
