Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hyperbaric Program Director and Safety Director to oversee the operations of our hyperbaric program and ensure the safety of all treatments and procedures. The ideal candidate will manage the day-to-day operations of the hyperbaric department, ensure compliance with safety standards, and provide exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee management and operations of the hyperbaric program.
Develop and implement hyperbaric treatment protocols following best practices and regulatory guidelines.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to create individualized patient treatment plans.
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
Operate Multi Place and Mono Place chambers in an outpatient setting.
Ensure maintenance and calibration of hyperbaric equipment and chambers.
Manage program budget and ensure cost-effective operations.
Provide staff training and education on hyperbaric medicine and procedures.
Conduct regular meetings to maintain effective team communication and coordination.
Stay updated on advancements in hyperbaric medicine and incorporate new practices into the program.
Safety Director:
Develop and enforce safety policies and procedures within the hyperbaric department.
Perform regular safety audits and inspections of equipment and chambers.
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations concerning hyperbaric medicine and safety.
Investigate and report safety incidents, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
Provide safety training, ensuring staff familiarity with emergency procedures.
Collaborate with facility safety committees to address safety concerns and implement improvements.
Maintain detailed records of safety inspections, incidents, and training.
Serve as the primary contact for safety-related inquiries within the hyperbaric program.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Certification in Hyperbaric Medicine (e.g., CHT, CHWS) required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in hyperbaric medicine, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
Extensive knowledge of hyperbaric chamber operation, maintenance, and safety protocols.
Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards (e.g., UHMS, NFPA).
CPR and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a clinical setting.
Previous role as a safety officer or director in healthcare.
Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate hyperbaric equipment.
Work Environment:
Clinical environment with exposure to medical equipment and patients.
May require occasional evening or weekend work based on patient needs and program demands.
