This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary incentive program, subject to the rule governing the program.Position Summary:The Corporate Counsel serves as a legal advisor to the company, working with senior leadership to advise on all legal matters affecting the company as well as developing strategic plans, identifying and implementing growth opportunities, and driving profitability. This position is a legal generalist role.Position Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:Draft, review and negotiate sponsorship, promotional rights and licensing agreements in support of the commercial business for the companyAdvise the company on marketing, branding, advertising promotions and initiativesDraft, review, and negotiate procurement, vendor and technology/software agreements including supply agreements, terms and conditions, master service agreements and a variety of indirect supply agreementsWork cross-functionally to identify risks and provide strategic, practical and creative legal guidanceMaintain a high level of commitment to quality work product, ethics, integrity and complianceCreate efficiencies and improvement within the legal department including enhancing or developing templates, contract standardization/automation initiatives, and building a legal playbookPrepare and conduct training for managers and employees on relevant legal topicsBuild key relationships within the company by responding promptly, being proactive about guiding the business in a way that minimizes risk and maintains company goalsOther projects and duties as assignedQualifications

Required Skills and Experience:Juris Doctorate and 3 plus years of experience at a major law firm and/or corporate legal departmentAdmission to a State BarAbility to get registered in-house counsel status in CaliforniaExperience with commercial transactions, including licensing, sponsorship, supply chain and technologyOutstanding written, presentation and verbal communication skillsStrong drafting skillsStrong negotiation skillsExcellent organizational skillsExcellent project management skillsDetail oriented with a keen focus on timeliness and accuracyExcellent follow up and follow through skillsAbility to make timely recommendations for business decisions based on reasoned legal analysis and the strategic objectives of the companyAbility to create effective and business-friendly training materialsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment with a business-focused approachAbility to work independentlyAbility to manage multiple prioritiesThis position must pass a post-offer background and drug testPhysical Demands and Work Environment:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
