We are seeking a Legal Counsel located in either Oslo (Norway), Austin (US), or Bangalore (India) that will report directly to Cognite’s General Counsel.If you enjoy working in a lean and flexible team with various and challenging tasks, this is the opportunity you are looking for.Focus Area – Software and Services ContractsThe role will entail providing legal assistance related to Cognite’s overall activities with the main focus on:ContractsSupport all business departments with various legal tasksSome of the main responsibilities will be:

Prepare, draft and negotiate various types of contractual documents with a focus on software licensing and related servicesWorking with legal tech tools to automate the legal departmentParticipate in tender preparations, clarifications and negotiationsProvide legal support related to follow up and handling of all contractsAssist with the implementation and enforcement of internal company policiesDeal with complex commercial and business mattersAd-hoc support of other staff functions such as finance, corporate development and P&O.We are looking for someone with the following background

Master's degree in lawMinimum 3 year relevant legal experience (in-house legal department, private law firm or relevant authorities), preferably from the technology fieldIn depth experience with contract drafting and negotiations with respect to IT contracts, services contracts, license contracts etc.Practical and commercial mindsetExcellent communication skills, both oral and writtenAbility to work independently and efficiently, often with tight deadlines, with understanding of the legal in-house rolePositive attitudeGood negotiation skillsFluent in EnglishDon’t meet every single requirement?
