General Summary:

The Regional Human Resources Manager oversees the Human Resources functions for our Atrium Centers located in the Michigan region, including Human Resources Planning, Recruitment and Selection, Employee Relations, Disciplinary Policy and Procedure Administration, Training, and Salary and Wage Administration. Serves as a resource/consultant to area management ensuring that policies and procedures are clear and applied fairly and consistently throughout the region.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Develops relationships with assigned facilities personnel to build trust and provide advice, guidance, and support on all Human Resource related matters.Assists in the development of Human Resource Policies, Procedures, and Trainings.Advises on best practices and educates employees and management on HR matters/policies.Investigates employee complaints, documents investigations, and assists with documenting disciplinary measures.Monitors and ensures that performance appraisals are conducted.Provides recruitment services for area facilities through various means, to include placing of advertising, targeting of specific individuals, and networking within the assigned area.Ensures that each facility has a recruitment and retention program in place.Partnering with the Director of Human Resources, maintains a comprehensive salary administration program for the area. This includes monitoring all salary ranges, and the competitiveness of facility wage programs.Drafts proposals for adjustments to facility wage programs.Ensures that each facility in their region has an employee relations program which includes such aspects as union avoidance.Where appropriate, works with the Senior Labor Counsel on union matters as needed, to include resolution of grievances.Reviews disciplinary actions, as needed. Participates in the following disciplinary events: extension of probation period, placing employees on probation, investigatory suspensions, and terminations.Serves as a resource to employees with respect to employee appeals of unresolved problems and ensures that the employee complaint procedure is followed.Conducts site audits to ensure compliance with various local, state, federal law as well as company-wide policies, and to determine the extent of any employee relations issues. Reviews audits with facility Administrator to determine what corrective actions should be taken.Working with Atrium Centers’ corporate staff, develops and conducts training programs as requested.Participates in various corporate projects as assigned.

Education and Required Skills:

Degree in Human Resources or related field.At least 5+ years Human Resources experience, preferably in long term care or with a multi-site employer.The ability to travel throughout different regions and facilities within the Michigan region.Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and interpersonal skills.We are Atrium Centers, and we invite you to see—first-hand—what we’re all about.
