A law firm in Portland, ME, seeks a Litigation Associate Attorney who is admitted to practice law in Maine with 3-6 years of experience in litigation. The ideal candidate will have strong academic credentials, superior research and writing skills, and the ability to handle a variety of litigation matters. This role involves conducting legal research, drafting motions and pleadings, counseling clients, and representing them in court proceedings and administrative hearings.

Job Duties:

Conduct legal research and analysis on various issues related to litigation matters.

Prepare and draft motions, pleadings, briefs, and other legal documents.

Counsel clients on legal matters and provide strategic advice.

Represent clients in state and federal courts, as well as before state agencies and municipal boards.

Collaborate with attorneys and staff across different practice areas within the firm.

Maintain strong client relationships and provide excellent client service.

Assist in matters outside of litigation as needed, including real estate, utility, and employment practices.

Requirements:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Admission to the Maine State Bar and in good standing.

3-6 years of relevant experience in litigation, preferably with experience in state and federal court proceedings.

Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Strong client service ethic and effective communication skills.

Willingness to work on diverse legal matters beyond litigation, including real estate, utility, and employment law.
